Mamissimo You've inspired me to make flapjacks - the Yorkshire version. They used to be a huge favourite in our house as the boys were growing up. Staples for the school lunch box.
I can imagine you and MrM dancing round your now-free hall, in a joyful celebration of the space.
Doodle Level 3 is "confined to barracks" but as I said to a friend this morning, it removes responsibility for other things, so I can put time into the stuff I enjoy.
As I've just acquired another student, that'll be lots of lovely English prep.
She's 15 and her parents are worried as she's behind standard. My reputation for amending this, has gone before me, no doubt strewing rose petals as it did so.
Like all my students, she'll have tea here before the lesson begins, so as most teenagers live on foods I wouldn't touch with a bargepole don't buy, some revision of the shopping list has to be done.
Raining and dull today (the garden LOVES that) thanks to La Nina. It'll pass - I hope.
It's remarkable how often I read things here which have also come up in my own life. My ddil asked for 100% wool hats for Gubbins, which I've made and passed on yesterday.
But supposing Gubbins is like her Grandma and can't wear wool or acrylic hats, both of which itch me?
I also have a vulnerable neck (back off Dracula!) and the slightest breeze, from a car window for instance, means stiff soreness the day after.
So I'm experimenting this year, having seen something which may serve.
It's called a 'modesty bonnet' and whilst it may look weird - not an unusual situation for my clothing - it will only be worn in the coldest weather and perhaps indoors.
As I say, an experiment.
I'm getting a little worried about so many missing Gangstars; ennui, depression, lockdown blues, isn't affecting all of them, surely?
They all seem such a stoic, lively, determined and versatile bunch who'd make the best of such leisure time, enforced or not, so I fear it has to be illness
Ah well, no matter the reason, you are all in my thoughts and I'm wishing you strong and happy wherever possible.
I'm off to join the Dean and his cat in front of his amazing dancing fire.
