Norway Covid Pfizer Vaccine Deaths

Here in the UK, injections are being done by volunteers. Perhaps the Norway ones were done wrong, the vaccine was faulty or all died from a pulmonary embolism because staff weren't medically trained?

I'm surprised we aren't recruiting vets and dentists to help out. They'd have the experience not to give you a pulmonary embolism.

I remember having bloods taken from the senior nurse in the doctors. She did it wrong and the blood that should have been going into the vial went into my arm. My arm went black & I couldn't move it for weeks!

Interesting thread luckily most of us are level headed experienced people. M0nica you are so right just read the leaflet that comes with medication and you wouldn’t take a paracetamol! When your DH was offered the jab did you know it was going to be the Pfizer one? Best wishes for his recovery.
Growstuff yes I read about drinkers and the vaccine, luckily I’m now T total as I was drinking regularly since I retired. I gave it up after an unrelated health scare.

There was a news item about alcohol and the vaccine on the Diabetes UK website yesterday.

It was aimed at heavy drinkers and advised abstaining for two days before and after being vaccinated. The reason given was that heavy drinking affects the immune system and could interfere with the action of the vaccine.

It also strongly advised drinkers to be vaccinated because alcohol does affect the immune system and people who drink heavily are more likely to develop severe covid symptoms.

The article didn't say anything about a need to be in "tip top" condition - quite the opposite. It's never a bad idea to look after your health, but not being a teetotal Mr or Mrs Universe shouldn't put anybody off being vaccinated.

DH is considered OK to have the vaccine and he had triple bypass surgery 2 months ago followed by 6 weeks of complications, including getting an infection in the incision. he is still not well.

The only reason his vaccine has been delayed, is because he was part of the Oxford vaccination trials and the vaccine on offer was Pfizer and I have got to ring the research team to see if it is OK to (possibly) have both.

How many times does one have to say that no medication is 100% safe for 100% of all recipients. Read the leaflet accompanying any over-the-counter medication - and they are usually administered by people with no medical training at all, some of whom will be unable to even read the accompanying leaflet.

Fascinating fiction from Lavazza! Surely she must have made it up since even our frequently unreliable press couldn't have dreamt up such unmitigated c**p.
I can confidently state that all of us oldies who attended our local vaccination centre yesterday would confirm that there is no truth whatsoever in those posts.

The false Information is indeed unwelcome and I’ve reported it actually.

There's a lot of unsubstantiated scaremongering going on at the moment; not sure why. All seems a bit daft to me. Maybe lockdown has something to do with it.

It is now 2 days since I had my vaccine and I have had no side effects whatsoever. No sore arm, no lump. I couldn't even see the vaccine site the next day. DS's MiL, in her mid-80s had the jab the same day as me, but 200 miles away and like me she has had no side effects what so ever.

My vaccination was done by a doctor, but a very young doctor. Not sure how many jabs he had done before

The report on the Norwegian deaths concluded that common adverse reactions of mRNA vaccines, such as fever, nausea, and diarrhoea, may have contributed to fatal outcomes in some of the frail patients. DH was a participant in the Oxford trials, near the end the trial he had a heart attack. This was not a side effect of the vaccine, the causes of it lay far further back in his past, than a vaccine. Nevertheless it was all carefully checked out.

My local vaccination centre is the leisure centre. I used to go there regularly until the start of lockdowns. I'm really surprised I'm still alive!

Well, that will rule me (and I suspect a few million others) out when it's my turn. The whole point of vaccinating the elderly and vulnerable as a priority is that they're not in tip top condition.

Meant to add, so they will not all be ‘fit’ elderly.

@Elegran, quite a lot of people in care - not actual nursing - homes, will be suffering from dementia, which I gather can make them more vulnerable, since it’s a degenerative disease of the brain.

Let she - or even he - who has a better idea than being vaccinated please post their alternative here. Until that marvellous moment arrives, I will continue to be grateful for what science is currently offering, thankyou.

DH did say it was advisable not to drink alcohol before or for a few days after the vaccination.

I did read somewhere that heavy drinkers were told that they should cut down as much as possible until after they had been vaccinated, can't remember why though.

Some of the volunteers are vets and dentists.

My 88y old stepfather came to us for his dinner today. He had his first Astra Zeneca jab yesterday morning. Said he slept like a top last night. He asked the doctor at the health centre about alcohol (he enjoys a wee dram around 4pm every day). The doctor reassured him at that level there was no concern.

He enjoyed a full plate of roast chicken dinner, had his whisky at was driven home at 5pm. He’s just rung me to say he’s contentedly watching the snooker now.

Gives me hope anyway.

How disappointing Lavazza to read unsubstantiated twaddle, there is an NHS recruitment drive out for all those with some medical training, including vets and dentists. There are untrained volunteers marshalling, admin and providing lifts. The no alcohol is also a myth, I can’t do links, but read New Scientist.
