Vaccination side effects

I had the Oxford AZ yesterday at 4 pm. No effects yet, not even a sore arm. I have various aches and pains but putting that down to sleeping badly. Nothing much. I suppose side effects might happen later.

Well I think you’ve all done a brilliant job of increasing anyone’s fears of being vaccinated!

I had my oxfordAZ over 2 weeks ago with no side effects until 2 days ago when I noticed a large raised rash hot to the touch on my arm.
I have read through the posts and see that candelle (sp) has had similar.
Always understood red and hot to the touch is infection, feel ok otherwise. Not sure what if anything to do.

I haven’t had mine yet but expect to have the Pfizer one, as my husband had a week or so ago at our GP’s surgery. I am expecting a call any day now. My husband was fine. I have friends who have had the Oxford one, some reacted, some didn’t but I think the Oxford one can cause more of a reaction than the Pfizer one from what I have heard. Whatever reaction happens it is better than getting the virus.

Nothing. Zilch.
AZ injection 7days ago.
No redness, stiffness, nothing.
Am assuming the needle actually went in.........

I had my OxAZ vaccine at lunchtime. By 8:30pm I was shivering in bed with a hot water bottle, headache and nausea. Next morning, headache still, took paracetamol but ten minutes later brought them back up again! Stayed in/on bed for most of the day feeling like I used to after a migraine. Back to normal next day.

But I am so glad I had it!

I had the AZ vaccine Saturday - had vertigo Monday evening\ night. Not sure it's gone yet....Anyone else had vertigo as possible side effect to the vaccine?

Unfortunately the sides effects have made me very unwell and I have had to contact my GP this morning.
This is rare and should not put anyone off getting vaccinated.
I have a long history of similar reactions, but would still get vaccinated again.

LN that's a shame. There have been a rare reports of the Oxford one causing blood clots, but never heard of blood being too thin.
I had the Oxford one last night and the doctor, who administered it, seemed pleased I was on two lots of thinners. ?‍♀️

That’s strange. The doctor that gave us ours today kept asking us if we were on warfarin etc.

I had the AZ vaccine yesterday morning. Slight headache yesterday afternoon and feeling very tired and achy today. DH had the AZ some weeks ago and was fine other than slightly fatigued the following day. Our friends who have had the Pfizer one reported no side effects at all.

That's interesting Ginnytonic. The two vaccines work in different ways. I contribute to the Covidzoe project. They're collecting info on sfx.
Apparently there can be more if a reaction to the Pfizer one after the second jab.

I had the Astra Xeneca ..had a sore arm for a couple of days and felt a bit rough for a couple of hours 24 hrs after the jab. One dose of paracetamol later I was fine.

DH and I both had the Pfizer jab yesterday morning, slight ache in arm last night but ok today and no other effects as yet. I do hope it’s not true that if there are no side effects it means the immune system is not responding. I had Hodgkins lymphoma 13 years ago successfully treated with chemo and was a bit shocked to be classed as still ECV after all that time so keeping everything crossed the jab works.

Thorntrees both my parents had the Pfizer one ..no side effects at all ..all friends who had the Oxford one have been really poorly ..so don't worry

Don't be disappointed, my side effects were awful! ☹

I had no side effects at all. Quite disappointing really. I envisaged all the helpful vaccine molecules busily teaching my immune system and T cells what to do if they came across a nasty Covid ?!

I had the Oxford jab yesterday lunchtime. I don’t seem to have had any side effects at all, maybe slight tenderness where the needle went in, but there is nothing to see.

This was done at a major hub, all very well organised. I did have to sit in a queue for about 15 minutes, and also sit and wait for a further 15 minutes, and then straight home!

Please don’t mention that good reaction = good response! I had none whatsoever!

After my Pfizer jab I had a sore arm for 3 weeks. Still can't lie on that side.

Dh and I both had the AZ.
He had no side effects at all.
I had very flu-like shivers and shakes that night, but fine again the following morning.
TBH I was reassured rather than otherwise - it showed that something was happening!
OTOH I’ve never had any reaction to the ordinary flu jab.

I was tired improving over three days, but not at all ill in any way.

I had the oxford AZ one yesterday, feeling a tad delicate today, muscle aches, glands feel tender in neck, stiff sore arm , pj day today.

I am feeling pretty grim after the Oxford vaccine. Sweating, nausea, stomach cramps and dizzy. I'm immunosuppressed, which may mean that the effects are more severe.

Here is a possible reaction to the oxford jab I have come across, again, anecdotal. (Though I know the person)
