WHO advising governments to be very vigilant

This is from the briefing just now, Chris Whitty said they are aware and watching.

I was waiting for it coming our way, knowing that flights have still been coming in from India.

Pity the WHO weren’t as vigilant in the beginning of this disaster.

Lin52 pity we are so slow to get the message too.

Although the vaccine roll out has been good our delay in adding India to the red list has put lives at risk. Pakistan and Bangladesh were added way ahead of India when they were much less risk to us.

Now we have approximately 50% of us with at least one vaccine, so 50% are still at more risk. 87 (I think) areas have a "significant" number of India variant positives and meanwhile we are all out on jollies as of yesterday.

Too many people are still rejecting the vaccine.

I heard from a friend yesterday of a couple in their 50s who are refusing it - not for any medical reasons. Yet they are hoping and expecting to go to Greece for 3 weeks as usual this summer. Let’s hope that people like them will find that they won’t be allowed in without proof of vaccination. IMO it will probably take that to change their minds.

On the News last night, one hospital had Covid patients, eligible for the vaccine, but had refused it.

"Positive vaccine sentiment" has increased to 94% in February, from 78% last December.

If we can vaccinate 94% that's excellent. I wish the news wouldn't big up the "refusals".

I have heard that refusing the vaccine is as bad as driving when drunk.

Government blaming their own incompetence on ordinary people yet again.
I, and everyone I know, has had at least one vaccine. It is a choice, not mandatory.
