Has anybody ever claimed that we need to be "locked up forever"? I don't think so!
Most people do want to go back to some kind of normality and are very much aware of the effects this has had/is having on people's jobs, mental health and the backlog on NHS procedures. I have never understood why people who don't want to follow rules seem to think they have a monopoly on caring for others (especially when they quite clearly don't).
That is exactly why they're urging caution and collective responsibility - because they do want a return to normality and they don't want it blown away by a minority who seem to be impatient and don't think of the big picture.
