Anyone having a reaction to Covid Vaccination now we are several months from first jab?

I contacted the Zoe program as unwell after first Astra Zeneca vaccine - felt as though I had bad flu. I’m told that I’d you’ve previously had Covid you are twice as likely to have side effects than not. I had it March 2020. Recently had second jab and experienced just sore arm and extreme tiredness for a few days. I felt quite fed up as everyone else in my family has totally fine after theirs- ‘why me’ feeling?

I had first AZ in March and my 2nd on Saturday.
Nothing with the first at all. In fact I rubbed my arm the same evening, it was a tad tender but until then I had forgotten about it.
24 hours after my second (I was at my daughters playing with DGDs) when I became very hot (the sun was out so I took little notice) 20 mins later I was wrapped up in my cardigan saying I needed to go in as I was too cold. I drove 50miles home without incident other than the radio was really irritating me! There was little to no traffic I landed home 1300 and straight into a bath to warm up. Whilst washing I felt the tenderness of my arm and put 2 + 2 together.
From then until 8am yesterday I felt like I had been hit by a bus, steam rollered and swung out on a bungee to dry. However I did sleep most of it. Yesterday I slept most of the day, still a bit hot and cold but the aches and pains had dispersed, and all fluids tasted like metal polish smells.
I woke at 2300 last night and occupied myself until 5am then slept until 0700. Woke up feeling better than I have for weeks. Really eating to go.
Knowing I was suffering side effects made the experience copeable because it was better than the alternative. Thankful for a taster because I know for sure I would not want the full blown

My 50 year old daughter, previously fit and healthy, also has long covid [PCS]. She has found solace in several long-covid Facebook groups and is now nearly ready to launch her own Facebook video channel to invite people to share their experiences. It's a ghastly illness - currently trying to get her a test for bloodstream candidademia just in case this is contributing to the symptoms but it's like pushing a bolder up a hill!!!

I had AZ. I did have a big response to it starting 5 hours after 1st dose. It knocked me out with shivers, total body aches , high temp of 39oc, terrible headache and nausea. Was ill for 48 hours. 2nd Jab I had a mild headache and felt tired all the next day but that's all . All worth having the jab and apart from those odd days I've had no effects. So glad I had it. My husband has had 1st dose. Felt lethargic with a bit of a headache the day after, that's all. My sister had Pfizer and just had a bit of a sore arm whereas her husband (AZ) had flu type effects the same as me. No one I know has had long term problems outside of the 48 hours.

Very sick for 24 hours after AZ no 1. Poleaxed with tiredness after no 2. But okay now!

My husband and I both had the AZ jabs with absolutely no problems. My son , who thinks he’s already had Covid early on, did feel under the weather for a day.

I'm not sure, it was my daughter who suggested it the other day.

Had Astra Zeneca in January, and apart from a very bruised arm I was fine. Second one in March and no reaction at all. BUT, since mid January I have been tired, and I don't mean a bit sleepy, but I could stay in bed 24/7 & if I t weren't for feeling guilty I'd never get up. Even going to the loo, feeding the dog, washing hair is so exhausting I hurt and feel wobbly. I am also in pain; all the time. It feels as though the pain is inside the middle of my bones, in the bone marrow. I'm breathless some of the time but not all. My cognitive abilities are lower than usual, strength poor, and I'm VERY low in mood.

I don't know if it's post vaccine effects, I have all sorts of other medical and psychiatric problems and rattle from my 17 different 'on repeat', & 5 ' as required' pain killers. I've had all the usual blood tests and I'm VERY low in Folates and my blood platelets are abnormal but not hugely. This is a new feeling that I've had before and doesn't fit with my other conditions. Prior to January I was walking long distances (albeit with crutches), & I had a life.

I can't see a GP (apparently because they are of an ethnic minority group at greater risk) so to be honest I'm just trying to do one little thing at a time.

Is it the vaccine? I have always believed that reactions apart from allergies (I'm allergic to Warfarin), are generally psychosomatic. But maybe it is a reaction, either to one of my meds or my medical conditions, or maybe I'm just adding a new condition.

We are hoping to move ASAP and we know that the doctors in the area that we are looking at DO see patients, so maybe we will know then?

Have had both vaccinations , AstraZeneca. Both times had bad nausea for 24 hours and felt tired for several days. Ist time had a very sore red lump on arm for 2 days at about 3 weeks in. 2nd jab same nausea and fatigue but also at he beginning had 2 days of horrendous headache . They all stopped after a few days. No lasting side effects am fine now.

Nothing from me other than a sore arm. Have had both jabs. Considering a documentary I watched about the power of the body and placebos I think you can talk yourself pretty much into anything if you’re that way inclined! Horizon, BBC4 on iplayer. Worth a watch

No not at all ! I had mine in January along with my 89 year old mother - We both had Pfizer and have also had our 2nd Jab no reactions at all but extremely grateful to have had it I understand that all 30year olds and younger are been given Pfizer too. My Daughter had hers yesterday - please this is our only way out get your young person to go and as soon as possible .

I had both Pfizer jabs with no noticeable effects. I felt a bit tired, but then I often do, so doubt if it was the jab.
I was concerned at the lack of reaction, but I am taking part in the ONS survey and a recent blood test confirmed that I have had a good response and I'm swarming with antibodies.
I'm also getting much better internet and 5G reception than previously!

Neither DH nor I had any bad effects beyond feeling "off", headachey and tired for about three days with both jabs.

1st AZ jab, injection like pain in both kidney areas 90 minutes after and again once after another hour. Not painful but uncomfortable. Increased going to wee up to 20 times a day for just 2 days then normal. Temperature 102F for 2 days and nights. Off balance when walking fell over twice but didn't hurt myself. Day 3 an uncontrollable shaking episode lasted 5 minutes. Extreme tiredness for 4 days falling asleep all the time. Huge red patch on arm lasted a week but not painful.
I'm not on any medication and healthy. This was AZ vaccine. No long term effects. OH just had tiredness and temperature for 2 days. He didn't react to 2nd vaccine. I hope I don't as I'm dreading it.

I am taking part in a government study to help try to establish a clearer picture. Just sharing my experience as the OP asked. I don't know how many other people on Gransnet have had Covid.

1st before Christmas second 8 weeks later, mild flu like symptoms for one day after second jab. Had worse with the annual flu jab. Pfizer

The point is, that whatever reaction may arise from the jab, having no protection and catching Covid will risk having those same effects multiplied.
Many millions of people around the world have safely had the vaccination.
Ask her if she would refuse to take paracetamol after reading the negative side effects.
I have a lifelong autoimmune condition which was triggered by a ‘safe’ antibiotic which has been in use for decades.
It’s a question of perception: which creates the greatest risk: the jab or covid.

OH and I have each had both jabs - Pfizer. Sore arm the first time, tiredness for a day or two after the second. I had worse side effects after one of my flu jabs!

We both had the Fizz x 2, and are fine. Daughter had Astra yesterday, and is under the weather.

I have ME and was very ill after the first Astra Zeneca with a very high fever and severe headache. Also ill after the second one with recurrent migraines and some fever but not so high. These symptoms subsided. I think I am subsequently more tired and ill. However as people have been saying it is difficult to know if it is the result of the vaccine or not. In the ME community we have been keeping polls and quite a lot of people have been experiencing relapses, sustained relapses, in their ME after the vaccines, though they do seem to be gradually reducing in many cases. Many people with ME have bad reactions to the flu vaccine and for some people the onset of ME co-incided with vaccination. Not covid vaccination, Previous vaccines. It is not surprising as ME is a post viral illness like long covid. Some people probably have immune systems which are genetically more vulnerable to malfunctioning in this way when challenged by viruses or vaccines. We know this is true for the very small number of people who have developed blood clotting disorders after the Astra Zeneca vaccine. In spite of this most people with ME have been having the vaccine and second vaccines. I have myself. Because the odds seem worse the other way. That is becoming even more ill if we get covid. But there is no guarantee and it is unpredictable how any individual will react. I do sympathise with you because my daughter is due to get her first shot. She also has ME and was very severely affected and bedridden for over a decade. To go back to that state is awful to contemplate. But we have to dree our weird, as we say in Scotland. Endure our fate. And life is hard for people in all sorts of different ways. . Good luck.
