Sorry, I realise many people will not feel lucky, especially those who have lost loved ones to covid. I did not put that very well.

LauraNorder - well put, entirely agree. The government has done a brilliant job. We have been so lucky.

It's a momentous moment after such a long time.

Thank you from me too, to everyone who has worked so hard to keep us safe, to care for us throughout illness, held the hands of the dying and the other unsung heroes who have helped to keep us fed, and to keep the wheels of our society turning.

Fantastic news indeed. The vaccinations we’ve had in our millions (thank you everyone) are holding up against all comers it seems. Remember how scared and anxious we all were this time last year?

Good news indeed. It's almost hard to believe. We're so used to bad news.

That is very good news. We are lagging here with our vaccine roll-out so not there yet.
We are booked for our second dose on the 17th, and planning to travel within our province in July. Fingers crossed.

It's excellent news.

Not the end of the journey but a big step along the way. I would add my thanks to all those who have worked so hard, such long hours and in such precarious circumstances to bring us this far.

I agree wholeheartedly. Thank you also to our government thrown in at the deep end, who had to make difficult decisions, enabled furlough to keep people safe, put up the finance to keep the economy afloat, got the vaccinations on order in good time.
Thank you also to the people who kept the lights on, the water flowing, the bins empty, the supermarket shelves stacked, the checkouts manned, the produce growing, the livestock well, law and order, fire services, so many unsung heroes.

Good news about zero deaths indeed.

Yes it’s the first day U.K. has had zero deaths, England had zero yesterday.

It’s a wonderful day to have no Covid deaths to report.

Yes, I agree, and would expect the government to wait until a higher % of individuals have had both doses.

They talk about herd immunity at 70% I think, so that seems sensible.
