Who said the vaccines aren’t good enough Wwmk2? It’s the first I’ve heard of it?
Oh yes, more scaremongering.
It’s been proved that the vaccines cut the link between infections and hospitalisation.
Every day several hundred thousand more people are being vaccinated, so there is no need to panic.
Yes we know the predominant Indian variant is more transmissible but I haven’t heard or read anything to say it’s a more dangerous variant.
Once the NHS App has been properly adjusted to stop it alerting all and sundry to self isolate, the situation will improve.
As far as I am aware, the facts about the virus are still much as they have always been in that, yes it can be nasty for a minority of people, but the vast majority of people who catch it make a full recovery.
Vaccines are not a magic bullet. Yes, they reduce hospitalisations and deaths for those who are fully vaccinated, but they are not enough on their own. People still need to be vigilant because they don't work for everybody. Not only that, but nearly half the UK population hasn't been fully vaccinated.
There is indeed no need to panic, but there is a need to keep one's eyes open and use one's brain.
I don't know what you've been reading, but there certainly is evidence that the delta (Indian) variant is more dangerous.
The "NHS" app hasn't been adjusted and has never worked properly. Many people don't have it anyway.
The majority of people probably do make a full recovery, but a significant minority don't. That's not just a handful - it's hundreds of thousands, who could be left with a permanent debilitating condition. Unlike flu, Covid attacks major organs and can cause lasting damage.
I'm not sure which facts about the virus you mean, but it's mutating all the time. The "facts" have not stood still.
