There’s an article about a book in today’s Times which details the mistakes the government has made throughout the pandemic and how they ignored the advice given them by SAGE. I can’t do a link I’m afraid. I’ll find out the name if the book. If you read it it will answer your question.

I don't know if it's the same book, but I bought one a few months ago. It's called 'Failures of the State' and is by two Sunday Times journalists from their Insight team.

Also, I think there's one recently published called 'Spiked' by, I think, a former member of the No 10 team.

There have been a number of analyses of the conduct of the pandemic published over this year.

Government supporters might object that they are 'political' and 'biased', but all they do is pull together much of the information that has been available since the start, plus some interviews with leading actors, such as medical staff and civil servants.

That was a very political method of not answering her question. So you really do not know the answer to her question although you think the Govt has got it all wrong. No solutions?

I've been told that today too, by someone whose daughter is a nurse in London, and son is in the army.
Both are preparing for it.

I was talking to a health worker recently who told me they have been briefed and preparing for another lockdown

Where shall we start. If you really, really don’t know the answer to your question, you haven’t been paying attention since January 2020 and possibly before that.

On a personal level I do not feel unhappy at all as I have plenty of friends and we are all supporting each other.
My problem is, I do telephone befriending and it's becoming quite hard trying to cheer up lonely people who have been used to going to their various clubs and things.
Possibly, when their activities reopen it will make a big difference to their state of mind.

That must be difficult, especially if it was previously their only contact. I think we could work our way toward bringing much if not most back over a reasonable period of time. I just think the attitude (for which I blame Johnson) for tomorrow is very much throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

Could anyone recommend a comfortable bra that “lifts and separates?!” Have wasted money on ones such as the “lacy bra” which are only suitable for small busted ladies.

I would think there is a majority in the government who would agree with you. Sadly they uphold the "my government right or wrong" attitude politicians take. There are some very sound Conservatives just as there are also some very sound MPs in Labour, the Lib Dems, the Greens, the SNPs and Independents.

I am fully aware of this. The case for many friends and close family. So far they have supported him to protect the Party and to ensure they keep Labour out- but the tide is truly turning and they are now beginning to voice their dismay, disgust even, very loudly.

I don’t see how people that are Conservatives at heart can support anyone in this government.

I did vote Conservative, mainly due to my constituency MP, I have absolutely no idea who I will vote for or even if I will vote in the next general election.

How many were at the football and tennis, who now have COVID that was plain stupid to have all those people together, but money talks.
Only a few teenagers have bothered to wear masks, while the senior generation have mainly obeyed the rules and we haven’t all shut ourselves off from the world.

I don’t see how people that are Conservatives at heart can support anyone in this government.

Stockpiling is selfish, please spare a thought for the families who live hand to mouth, week by week and cannot afford to hoard for the sake of it!!!
