Should I still wear a mask?

I wear one when shopping, going into our community centre for my Pilates class (but off for the class), out for a meal (except at table) and for the doctor and hospital appointments.

Wearing one is down about 25% in my area.

We still mask up in shops. I voluntary drive, my customers sit in the back masked, I’m masked and windows are open. When it’s too cold to sit outside, if we go to a restaurant or pub, we’ll mask until seated.

I wear a mask in my village shop and anywhere else I am indoors especially if the ventilation is poor. My art class has restarted with 4 people sat round a table for a couple of hours in a small poorly ventilated room at the teacher’s house. There was not room for me as I was not offered a place probably on the correct assumption I wouldn’t take it. Just because we are all double jabbed doesn’t mean we can toss caution to the wind.

I always wear a mask in shops, church, and in public transport. But this past weekend I have done more mixing than for the previous 18 months, without a mask - giving my granddaughter a lift, lunch with my son and family indoors, a private house tour with 16others( all older people and no social distancing). It was nice to be back to normal, but now not sure how safe it was. It is a tricky one.

I wear a mask where it is requested, usually shops, but now that group meetings face to face are resuming I am increasingly coerced by people (men actually) who are insisting every one wears a mask and seats are spaced at two metres, 'otherwise I shan't come.'
Privately I feel, well, stay away if you feel unsafe but the consensus is agreement. Two and a half hours of a discussion group in face masks and two metres apart, so a lot of shouting involved. Would rather do zoom.

We have to wear masks here or cop a fine but I would anyway. It is really good that we haven’t been getting colds, flu, bronchitis or anything this year apart from Covid. We have to also wear them outdoors and I am not so sure about that when not many are around. I certainly agree with in shopping centres, supermarkets etc. Just good manners these days.

Me and my husband both have Covid. We are double jabbed. I was with a group of friends 8 days ago and didn’t wear a mask ( I wasn’t breaking any rules) , unaware that I must have been infectious at the time. Now I am dreading news that any of these friends in their seventies will have caught it. It’s no joke, it’s a horrible illness.

Last week I had an unavoidable appointment in the nearby city so had to take an early morning bus. Eight college age students got on at my stop and only one of them wore a mask. All but one of them went upstairs and I stayed down where the majority of people were masked. Unfortunately one of the students (unmasked) also stayed on the lower deck and she coughed into her sleeve throughout the 50 minute journey. ?‍?

I’m in Scotland and the rules around masks to me are a bit perplexing tbh.
People can go to a pub/party and not wear one when sitting in company, can dance without one but are expected to put one on when going to the loo or the bar. It doesn’t really make sense to me tbh.
I do the odd shift at my local British Legion behind the bar and we have to prompt people to wear a mask when they come to the bar, realistically though we can’t force it. At a fund raising function the other night, at the start of the night I’d say it was about 60% compliance, but as the music went on and folk had a few drinks that dwindled. Never mind the folk that wore the mask and then pulled it down to get served because of the music etc. Obviously we can refuse service, but economically that then obliterates the club so it’s a bit of a catch 22.
I do wear my mask on public transport/shops and when I do a shift, but I do question how effective it is now with so many others not complying with the rules.

We have to still wear masks in shops, buses, trains etc I think I might always wear a mask in these situations. Any colds I have had since last March have come from DGC who are all under 7. We do twice weekly lateral flow tests and both DD's do them due to work and will probably continue with them. I don't feel comfortable if places are too crowded so avoid them.

We still wear our masks and launder them daily.

I think they ask us to wear it in enclosed spaces like shops too, BlueBelle.

We are both still wearing masks in shops and on the train. We have enjoyed sitting in pub gardens and watching the cricket without masks, but are less happy inside venues without one. Once the weather turns cold we will just be doing essential shopping and visiting family.

I still wear a mask because I am in contact with children under the age of 12 who are unable to be vaccinated when I volunteer. I do not want to carry Covid to them.

Here is the US, there is a pretty big division on masks vs no masks. Not sure if it is as bad in the UK.

We still wear our masks in indoor venues like shopping centres. We were just saying this morning that there were hardly any masks around today. Even a week ago I would say about a third of adults were wearing them. Not many take any notice of social distancing anymore either - few people ever took notice of the single direction stairs in the car parks, no matter how many notices were put up. We've never worn masks outdoors so that hasn't changed.

The NHS is on its knees and we all have to do everything we can to stay healthy and therefore not require their services.
Last winter there were NO hospital admission due to complications from winter flu.. NONE...
Last winter we were all wearing masks all the time as well as restricting our socialising.
While it is better for our mental health to mix with each other, is it really such a big deal to wear a mask as much as possible?
If it protects each of us AND our NHS....

I'm still wearing mine, although I really only go out to do essential shopping.

I felt very comfortable on a recent visit to Edinburgh where mask wearing is still required indoors.

I still wear a mask in shops and other indoor areas. Wearing masks is still required/requested in church and our congregation is happy to comply.

I use mostly homemade masks, but they do have 3 layers and get washed after every use.

Just had a new box of FFP3 masks delivered. I'm not stopping.

I still wear a face covering in supermarkets and shops. I do not wear a mask to walk to a table in a restaurant or to walk to the lavatory from the table.

If/when I was to use public transport/taxi I will wear a face covering.

Mask wearing is probably 50/50 in my community and the same in local supermarkets.
