I think it would be better to do "The Bump" like the song/dance from years ago, where you bumped bums.
Nick nack paddy wack! Now you're standing back to back! Knick knock on the floor, bump your baby a little bit more....
It would be a lot more fun, too.

Ive been wracking my brain, and the name of the group has just come back to me- it was Kenny, wasn't it! grin

smile

That's a nice thing to say.
Thanks!

I don’t understand the preoccupation with having to touch at all. A cheery hello is surely sufficient.
Hugs for family and closest friends only.
Love your posts MissAdventure, wherever and whatever the topic, guaranteed to make me smile every day.

I saw Boris doing this on the news, and thought it ridiculous. He wouldn't normally have 'shaken' hands with the staff concerned, and it was onto bare skin as he had his sleeves rolled up.

Oh My God!

Not.

I don't think you can catch covid via bare elbows.

Arse mask.
Gas mask, maybe? grin

You do realise that you can pass on the virus from all orifices ?

Totally silly and unnecessary methinks.

westendgirl Tue 09-Nov-21 12:00:58

Pathetic, but goes well with our pathetic P.M.

Elbow bumping just looks silly. No need for physical contact at all.
You can greet people in a friendly way without touching them.

Hetty58 Tue 09-Nov-21 11:57:37

MamaCaz, I think it's just plain silly. We don't need to touch at all - and shouldn't!

MamaCaz Tue 09-Nov-21 11:55:25

Just to clarify, I've never elbow bumped anyone either.
Like most of you, I'm just a 'hello' (or 'alright?') person.

Nevertheless, every time I see elbow bumping on TV, I am struck by how it brings faces closer together than I would have thought wise, given that it's reason for being is to supposedly reduce the risk of spreading covid.

Calendargirl Tue 09-Nov-21 11:47:08

Just say ‘hello’ and smile.

No need for elbow bumps, fist bumps, hugs, kisses, handshakes.

That made me laugh - but if I ever meet Boris, I think I might agree to the elbow bumping after all rather than do that with him! grin

I just raise my eyebrows to people I know.
Sometimes mumble "alright"?

Rosalyn69 Tue 09-Nov-21 11:41:53

It looks awkward and ridiculous.

Perhaps we should go back to bowing and curtseying.

Totally non-gendered of course. Anyone can bow and anyone can curtsey.

Lucca Tue 09-Nov-21 11:40:02

I don’t t do it , never have. Just say hello if you are not on hugging terms.

Pepper59 Tue 09-Nov-21 11:40:01

I don't do it, I cannot stand it. I just hug those who want a hug.

Am I alone in thinking that elbow bumping is not good, because it brings the heads of the two people doing it far closer together than i would have thought was wise.

Wouldn't fist-bumping make more sense, that's if people really feel that they need to touch at all, which is debatable ... ?
