I have been retired on and off for several years. I find it very boring so have started working in admin for the vaccination programme. It is wonderful to be back in an office environment (and the money is nice too). What I have found astounding, however, is seeing people I am working with, without their mask on. I will spend the morning in an office with several people, all masked, chatting away and generally getting to know them. Then at lunchtime they whisk their mask off in order to be able to eat. Every single time someone I haven't met before removes their mask they don't look like I think they will - it's bizarre. I think I must make up the rest of their face in my mind and it is always a shock seeing them as they really are. I guess we don't generally meet new people at the moment and if we do (shops, buses etc.) they are masked - it is not something I noticed before I started working. I hate to think what they imagine I look like until I take mine off, maybe I'll make a hole in my mask and just stuff food through it. Is it just me?
