How Was it For You?

My DD has it atm. Horrific symptoms cough, dizzy, vertigo, neck stiffness, joint stiffness, migraine type sever headache, temperature 103 after paracetamol, collapsed on floor like a faint, on days 1-4. Days 5-8 deep chesty cough, sleeping most of day and night, unable to think what she's doing or remember anything (brain fog), breathlessness walking upstairs, very tired and sleepy still.
Day 9 today. Still coughing a lot, managed to stay awake all day 8am till 9pm, brain fog going as thinking clearer now. She's in her 20s, ideal weight, active works full time and no underlying heath conditions. Double vax with Pfizer.
DGC age 7 caught it from her. Temperature for one afternoon and night. No other symptoms at all. Eating playing energetic as normal. PCR positive. NHS say most likely DELTA Varient.
So pleased DD is showing improvement today.

Oops posted too soon ... Phoned 111 who booked me in for test the next morning. Dragged myself there & went home to sleep & contemplate the boredom of waiting for the result. It was due back in 1-2 days but I didn't receive notification until the Friday!? It was negative. ( I do wonder if it was one of the 'spoiled' tests).
Just as well as I didn't feel well enough until about Thursday and lived in marmite drinks & eventually marmite sandwiches. I got to a point where I felt better but the thought of food ? I had the time energy & enthusiasm to cook but not eat it!
I've lost weight. A year on, my appetite is not great & I'm getting comments.
So it's reassuring to see this might be a symptom.
However, looking forward to Christmas Dinner ?

I had a sore dry throat starting on 6th December and a headache. I done a home test on 7th December and was surprised to see it positive so to be sure done another straight away still positive. I was sent out one of the tests that get sent and it had to be returned by return of post. within forty eight hours they confirmed I was positive for Covid. I had to do a 10 day isolation period.
Symptoms for me were debilitating dry throat, fever headache, no sense of taste or smell, totally nauseous and even if I wanted to had no appetite if I tried to eat I rushed to the bin to want to throw up. I honestly went nine days without one bite of food and lived on bottled water day and night as that was all I could keep down. then there was the body aches and tiredness.
I battled it out at home and the only time I would have called the ambulance would have been if my breathing took a turn for the worse but luckily it didn't.
I have never felt so ill in all my life and I wouldn't wish those symptoms on anyone.
I have started to come through it now thank God and feel the worst of things has passed.

Not sure if I qualify, but last November I had an episode: t The Friday I suddenly felt extremely unwell at work - dizzy, feverish, nauseous. Saturday felt Ok, Sunday feverish - in waves, killer headache, nauseous

I’m on day 33 (am classed ECV & triple jabbed) and although tons better than I was I just cannot get rid of the annoying cough, and am still very easily exhausted after the slightest physical effort. I also still haven’t got my appetite back at all (probably a good thing as tbh I am obese) so having to force myself to eat something each day.
Son is a doctor on a covid ward and he called round on Wednesday- reassured me that how I’m feeling is not uncommon & it could take 6 months to feel “normal” again.
I can have my booster anytime after 1st Jan and shall be getting it asap!!!

Hi, my DH and I had ours last November in 2020. The worst thing was the fatigue and I felt like I had the worst hangover for days. We had days where we felt not to bad and hubs cleaned the cars but a day where we both couldn’t leave the sofa. But after two weeks we were fine and no long term effects thank goodness. I’d happily get a dose of omricon if we could sail through it again and top up our natural antibodies which I think is really important.

Dreadful is all I can describe it as and definitely life-threatening if you haven't got a strong constitution. A year ago mine was just beginning and I felt as though I'd been through the mangle----after-effects lasting until June, 6 months on. ( last year )

It was like having a bad case of 'flu and whooping cough at the same time, spending a few days gasping for breath before coughing. I didn't ring the emergency services because I knew I'd be carted off so was determined to battle it out at home with black rum, lemon, hot water and paracetamol.

It left me dizzy and feeling as though I had a pair of wooden legs as the arteries seemed to be impaired. Like a paralysis. I've never seen a GP as it's been futile this last year, maybe next year then I'll state my case.

I was lucky, when I tested positive back in October. Just generally off colour and tired for a few days. No headache, nausea or cough. I slept a lot, but partly from boredom - DH and I were confined to our room as we had family staying with us. The tiredness did linger for about a week after isolation and it took a few weeks to get my full stamina back, I lost my sense of smell as well, which started to come back after a month.

We’d worried about DH getting Covid, as he’s asthmatic. In the event he had slight cold symptoms for one day - and absolutely nothing else.

Beautybumble I feel your pain. I’m on day nine …and the awful nausea (like morning sickness but unrelenting) has been very hard to cope with. It’s eased somewhat but the tiredness. Mine started with two days of thinking I was getting a cold then that vanished and the awful nausea headache and complete loss of appetite appeared, for five days. And the exhaustion… even walking round my little flat has my heart racing. Thankfully my daily oxygen SATS, temp and peak flow readings have been and are all normal. I’m ridiculously tearful though and the nights are long. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone. I do hope you’ll soon be feeling much better and hope you can have a nice Christmas

The horrid cough virus I’ve had for over 2 weeks has made me feel loads worse than covid did as couple of months ago, it’s just going on and on and is very debilitating. I was sure it must be another dose of covid but my result was negative.
