I’m planning a trip to Sydney in March but apparently I may still test positive having just had Covid now. So I’ll need a doctors certificate in case my preflight PCR comes up positive…oh the stress.

I had a boy in my overseas school who was desperate to go home but was still testing positive after a month and therefore kept getting positive PCR tests.

Pretty sure he wasn't infectious that far out.

I understood that even if you were still positive the chance of passing it on was v low at that stage? There was a study in S Africa that showed that people with compromised immune system, such as untreated HIV, gave positive results up to eight months after having Covid. They didn’t seem to be infectious, though, it was that their immune system didn’t ‘clear out’ the remnants of the virus from their blood.

I have read somewhere that omicron seems to flare up again, symptom wise, on day 11.

My friend is on day 11, still testing positive on LFT.

I'm not sure of the specifics.

I'm also not sure how infectious people are past day 10. In the near past, people were out of quarantine after day 10 and regarded as being safe, although I have to admit, I kept my distance from students at school who were on day 11 up to about 10 days afterwards, just to be on the safe side.

I'm just waiting to hear if he develops covid now. I told him to do a test on Sunday to see. I certainly will be going no where near.

Though can you still spread the virus if you’re Day 11? I though you stopped being infectious by day 10.

Oh dear. My 93 year old neighbour's nephew visited her over Christmas. When he had been there a while, he said to her 'I don't agree with having the vaccine. I haven't had it'. Selfish indeed.
