Continuous positive Lateral flow test, Negative PCR ?

Thanks Marydoll I think she stopped recording just before Xmas - after the neg. PCR. I've just texted the info to her so I'm waiting with anticipation to see what the consultant says.
(Sometimes I have to wait a few days whilst DD processes it in her head)

ROS, It's probably best to speak to the consultant anyway. Your DD may be surprised at the outcome.
Last week my consultant was able to tell me how many lateral flows I had done and as someone, who is CEV, I have done many.
If your daughter has been recording the results, as we have been asked to do, the information will be on her record for all to see.

Thanks for the info not what I was expecting to hear! Will pass on to DD. She was hoping not to get the consultant involved in case he suspended her treatment but looks like she doesn't have a choice.

My DIL kept testing positive on lateral flow after ten days isolation. She phoned the Scottish Covid helpline for advice and was told to ignore, as she would be no longer infectious. Apparently it happens.

Sorry to hear that, Ro, perhaps your DD 's consultant or specialist nurse could advise? My DS1 is CEV and has regular hospital treatments, I know how important they are.

Grannmarie as yet, hospital won't accept PCR as it isn't from the day of appointment.
Quite a while back, we did hear about kids corrupting the tests with lemon juice & DD does take antacids (but so do a lot of people) - grasping at straws here!
Elaine1 I hope your son has his appointment and is on the road to recovery.? Always someone worse of eh? So, hospital policy is quite different to day to day isolation rules. Very confusing.

Not really sure but LF can remain positive for weeks (90 days) after having Covid and if PCRs are negative then she may have had it in the past but not infectious now.
I don't think any medication affects the results.
DS has had a burst ulcer at New Year and he was tested in hospital - I think PCR which was negative but they wouldn't do LF as it wasn't 90 days since he had covid. He was then exposed to a Covid positive patient in hospital and on discharge the letter said to self isolate for 14 days as that is hospital policy (unchanged since start of pandemic). GP has refused to check his blood - had to have 2 blood transfusions - so is to attend AE for a blood test on Monday! Can't keep up with all the changes in restrictions!

I haven't heard of that, Ro. Would the hospital accept a negative PCR so that she can have her treatment?
