4th Covid Vaccine Refusal?

Is there anyone who has refused to have the 4th Covid Vaccine? I am due to have mine soon, but so undecided this time. I always get swollen lymph nodes near my collar bone.

I am not a clinician or an immunologist or anything of the kind.

However even in my non-medically trained state I can tell you that vaccines don't have long term effects.

So there you go, less to worry about for you.

Interested to read that you think its not possible for the vaccines to address the latest strain. Why's that then?

And all the stats are transparent but you just haven't looked for them.

How does anyone know at this moment in time if the vaccines are harmful or not - only time will tell. Personally I will not have 4th, 5th or 6th. After 2nd AZ I had shingles after 3rd Pfizer I had gastro issues for one year. Where is the evidence and transparency that the boosters address the latest strain. It is not possible ! Where are the stats re: sudden deaths, excess deaths and heart issues ??? Nothing is transparent?? Why

Thank you Elegran I will.

Elegran Sat 07-Jan-23 15:11:23

October to January is at least 91 days, so it is not too soon. If you are offered it, take it.

Elegran Sat 07-Jan-23 15:09:54

I would guess that if the virus you encounter is a variant which your previous four jags didn't cover, then you will get some generalised protection from them, but not as much as you would get from the latest version of the vaccination, which will include the latest known variants (if there has been time to add them in)

Just as the latest flu jag will cover the latest known variant of flu, which changes frequently. That is why flu jags are offered every year.

I have had four. No side effects and I am happy to have more. Does anyone think we need more than four? The NHS site says that I'm eligible to book for my fifth although I only had my fourth in October. I'm happy to have it but has there been a long enough gap? Some info says 91 days after my previous one but the NHS site us telling me to book if I want one. What would others do? The fourth was called my autumn booster (I think).

If you have had three without bad side-effects, you will probably have the fourth without them. You and your daughter react independently.

I know that makes sense Elegran but it has still paused me.
She was fine after having the first two it was the third one.

I understand she is one of the statistics unfortunately, that there will always be on such things.

Welshy your question came up amongst my colleagues at work. It is around 50/50 take up even though covid is still doing the rounds here.

I'm reluctant to have my fourth jab because of the ongoing side effect my daughter suffers from.
She now has a constant extremely bad headache where she has to take anti depressant tablets to control the pain.
One of my suggestions was perhaps try acupuncture but she'd need to come off them to do it and she can't because her NHS job is critical that she can concentrate.

I know each person is different, DH wants me to have it but ...

As somebody who worked in the field of immunology, I would prefer to have the jabs than not.

Grannynannywanny Fri 06-Jan-23 16:20:50

I had it last summer didn't feel ill at all. Just sore throat and temperature for 2 days

And I don’t suppose your symptoms remained mild because you’d been vaccinated. 🙄

Grannie06 Fri 06-Jan-23 16:12:35

I have only had the first 2 jabs. Didn't see the point as people i knew with 3 jabs were still catching it and some quite badly. I had it last summer didn't feel ill at all. Just sore throat and temperature for 2 days.

I think we should be celebrating the success of mRNA vaccines or specifically the pioneering work of scientists who have been working on mRNA vaccine as a treatment for cancer for years and were able to adapt it so quickly and safely for fighting the covid pandemic.

If ongoing mRNA vaccine research and development does lead to a treatment for some cancers, will the refuseniks be so keen to deny it I wonder?

Wheniwasyourage Fri 06-Jan-23 11:41:27

Well, at least those of us who can take the vaccines are doing what we can to protect those who can't, and also those who won't, whether they like it or not. grin

nipsmum Fri 06-Jan-23 10:58:57

I've had all the COVID and Flu vaccines offered to me. I had a minor reaction to the first COVID and absolutely no reaction to any other ones. I will be prepared to take what is offered.

*Elegran*, is this what you are trying to post?

That is one of the diagrams/graphs in the part of the article that I was trying to copy. There are graphs of the relationship of proportion of deaths relevant to vaccination in various countries. It wouldn't let ne copy and post any of them. I took a screenshot and spent some time extracting the US graph to post, but it was better to direct people to the whole thing than to copy the whole of the text and then each individual graph. It really is a very readable explanation.

I struggle with the idea of NOT having the covid vaccination which has so undoubtedly saved so many lives.

maddyone Fri 06-Jan-23 09:58:52

Hear hear Marydoll. As many of you know, I had Covid before I was able to have any vaccinations. I ended up in hospital for twelve days, on oxygen for eleven days, on steroids, antibiotics, antivirals, heparin injections, a drug to break up the mucus I told the doctor I felt I was drowning in (can’t remember the name) omeprazole to clear the acid caused by the high dose steroids, and two, or was it three drugs that I can’t even remember what they were or what they were for. I had pneumonia, and needed a CT scan to check whether I had clots in my lungs. I was lucky, I didn’t. My daughter, a doctor, rang to enquire how I was (no visitors) and spoke to a doctor that she knew. He said they were hoping I’d recover, but it was not a position that he’d have liked his mother to be in. I actually think I would have died without treatment. Trying to breathe through thick secretions and blocked airways, having a very low amount of oxygen in your blood, sitting up and leaning to the left to help you breathe (I was told this helps but they’re not sure why) but I was doing this naturally as I struggled to breathe. I’m sorry, I know many of you have read this before, but I really think that vaccine denial shows a complete lack of comprehension of what Covid can do to a person. I’ve had all four of my vaccinations and will continue to take any others offered.

Marydoll Fri 06-Jan-23 09:49:18

Elegran, is this what you are trying to post?

Elegran Fri 06-Jan-23 09:35:38

Please read the link I gave to ourworldindata.org/covid-deaths-by-vaccination It explains the difference between headline figures and the true meaning of the figures. I tried to copy and paste it, but it it wouldn't copy the diagrams, which are very clear and make sense even to those who don't like numbers.

When will folk get the message The vaccines don’t work !
Lots of proof from both doctors & scientists if you care to research
Long term effects are not known & death rate risen for those jabbed. Folk are being used as Guinea pigs!

Oh for crying out loud!

When this pandemic first hit us, how many people were in hospital fighting for every breath ? How many of those who caught it died?

Then the vaccines were developed, and the majority of people in the UK have now had several jabs. The aim of vaccination is to lessen the effects of the virus and cut down the number of deaths it causes.

How many NOW in hospital fighting for their lives have been vaccinated and how many haven't? How many deaths from Covid are of vaccinated people and how many to unvaccinated? The answer to those questions is a measure of whether the vaccine works or not.

Do you even know the answer to those questions, or any of the others? Or even WANT to know, because it might make you discover that you were wrong.
Try reading this - ourworldindata.org/covid-deaths-by-vaccination or if you prefer a simple picture, look at the one with this post.

I still struggle with the idea of people accepting 6 doses of vaccine in a few years

Here we go again!
You don''t need to struggle, it's none of your business.
Having had six vaccines and a dose of anti virals, prevented me from dying of Covid, as I certainly would have done otherwise.
Do you think you know more than my clinicians?
