Hello Lobstars,
I hope something nice happens today to lift your spirits Doodle.
Your hospital experience reminds me of when DH was in. Are you staying all day with him or do the family take turns?
I hope you find time for rest and reflection. How are the ducks on the river?

I spent ages yesterday trying to convert an on-line document into another format. I am applying to put some pottery pieces into an exhibition and the techy bits defeat me. I hope it worked. I haven't actually made the pots yet!
Glad that Kira is so at home now Nfk.
Also that probate has come through.

(1001 Posts)I do hope today brings something good for each and all - especially Doodle and MrD.
It's lovely sunshine here. π
My just-passed-her-driving-test daughter has bought herself a very old convertible! I hope it's still warm nd sunny when she finishes work!
Aha. That wind in the hair and the open road, so redolent of one's youth π’.
My first planned outing with Mr.I-to-be was a very kind offer he made to take me back home, 200 miles, as an impoverished student. I had wondered whether there might be an ulterior motive in this, but, in view of the fact that he also drove a really nice sports car, I didn't need much encouragement.
Ah, but what to wear for this journey? I decided on both casual flowing clothes (it was the 70s) and hair - long blonde tresses - to match.
We sped down the motorway. I spent most of the time trying maintain my modesty in the face of flapping garments and the rest of the weekend trying to untangle my impossible hair.
Not the image of sophistication I was trying to cultivate to impress.
I hope you daughter lives the dream too, NS.
*been another painful and uncomfortable day for DH today. Just wish they could help with the pain if nothing else. They say itβs nerve pain due to blood getting in to places it hasnβt been for a while. The blood is good but the pain is distressing to watch. Weβre both exhausted. Sorry Iβm not more communicative but by the time I get back to the hotel after 9 I just want to sleep.
Take care all. Much love Xx
Night night Doodle, sweet dreams!

How awful for poor Mr D. I hope the blood has done its work now and the pain can stop.
I had forgotten that you stay in the hotel Doodle so not much chance of a riverside walk.
There hopefully will be again soon.
There was warmth in the sun today so I sat out to eat my lunch and my cup of tea.
I wonder where Jeeves is.
Perhaps he can mix us some nightcaps. I fancy hot chocolate after my Gaelic class brain gym I need a treat.
Night night xx
ixion - I did much the same in the early 70s! I had my long hair whipping my face for about an hour and came away with streaming eyes, a bright red face and knotty hair.

This is why you need a headscarf and sunglasses to be glamorous! (See pic)
And yes, she did get a chance to swoosh down a few country lanes (but mainly let her boyfriend drive!).
You are looking particularly Glamourous NotSpag! π π π
Ha ha! Grammaretto
Wish that were so!
Doodle So sorry to hear about Mr D and hope today has been a better day. Nerve pain is very distressing as I found after I had my stroke. However my pain wasnβt continuous. It affected my left stroked side mostly in my hand. If I touched anything with that hand the pain although brief was horrendous. If your DH has continuous pain like that he must be in agony. I was prescribed Pregabalin but it really didnβt help much. So hoping heβs had some relief today
Not a good day. DH very poorly. Doctors along every hour or so. Prayers and thoughts much appreciated. Sorry not up to saying more. Love Doodle xx
Surround him with love Doodle, as do you.
Biggest of hugs for you both, Doodle, tonight, as ever.
My thoughts are very much with you and Mr D, Doodle. They will remain with you π Xx
Sending my love to you both and praying π π€²

Hoping that, tonight, we might have better news from the Doodles. Thinking of you both, lots. π»
Things much the same tonight. Thanks for your kind thoughts and messages. Xx
Doodle, my thoughts are very much still with you and Mr D. I hope you had a more restful night last night xx
I'm a bit envious of the lobStars who've had good weather this week. Apart from today, when we've largely been indoors doing stuff that had to be done π€¦, it's done nothing but rain! Tuesday I had my walking group and the heavens opened - cue a group of, ehem, slightly older women walking as fast not very fast as their legs could carry them towards the nearest point of shelter and getting more and more bedraggled by the second. That nearest shelter - a well known store that sells electricals etc π€·. On Wednesday - a trip to the opticians for my eye test and yet another trip to a charity shop - cue a slightly older man and woman carrying boxes of books up the street in the pouring rain and arriving at said opticians in need of a very large towel π€¦. It's forecast to rain heavy tomorrow ....
ixion you asked if there was any news on the car front π€. Simple answer - no, convoluted answer - this house sorting malarkey is putting a lot of things, including the car hunt, on the back burner.
Grammaretto, I'll let you know if the clear out is cathartic so far I'd say so when it's finished whenever that'll be π.
I hope your newly qualified driver DD does get some lovely warm days to enjoy that convertible NotSpaghetti --if her hair's long I suggest a very chic french plait--
I hope everything is ok Kaimoana
If Jeeves can spare some time I'll have a cup of tea please.
Night night lobStars π.
&Just popped in - so sorry no better news from Doodle. Poor Mr D, I do hope his nerve ends settle down pdq. I wish we all lived near so we could at least give proper big hugs.*
Hello Lobstars,
Very sorry to hear that Mr D is no better π’.
Let's hope and pray he has a turn for the better today .
Get well π π
Are you clearing Cherry because you are moving out? Or is this a spring clean or a "do it now" to save the house clearers?
I am missing the helpers. I do nothing when no-one is here to shame me into doing it.
I shall be working at the shop this morning and driving across town later to pick up some pottery materials which were not delivered
The sun is still shining β¨οΈ
Yesterday my husband planted some wildflowe seeds gifted him by a local hotel's gardener. Last year their display was magnificent. π€
That is so pretty NotSpag! π
Yes - and so kind of him to gift seeds too - he said he'd had lots of compliments about them.
Thought I'd share a few more photos
Another short visit from me, sorry
Possibly a slight improvement in DH today but as things are so up and down itβs hard to tell. Hope youβre all ok. Sorry Iβm not around more. Much love to allβ€οΈ*
Thinking of you both so much Doodle. Fingers and everything crossed for some good news very soon
