WORD ASSOCIATION - 9th May 2026
Problems in Harry and Meghan Marriage
Sadly our stay at the hospice was very limited. My darling passed away this morning. I am lost. x
Holding you close in my heart, Doodle🥀.
Darling Doodle xxxx
♥️ to you dearest Doodle Xxx
.
I am so sorry to hear this news.
Sending love and prayers.
I am so sorry to hear your devastating news. Our sincere condolences to you and your family. 🌹
Sending love Doodle xx
Thank you all. Our sons are doing a wonderful job of looking after me and we have had lots of time for remembering the good times. x
I am glad to hear your boys are with you Doodle. It helps all of you.
Such a lot of good times to remember. Sending love xxx
Dearest Doodle, I know you must all be devastated. I am so glad he had a couple of days of pain-free peace and sunshine. You have been totally wonderful throughout dear friend.
Much love to you all.
Doodle, I, too, am pleased that your sons are with you, sharing those special happy memories and taking comfort in one another. Much love to you xx
Been busy today trying to arrange DHs funeral and get through some paperwork. Don’t know how I’d manage without our sons. So much to get through. I still feel strangely disconnected and very tired. I’ve lost a lot of weight and my clothes don’t fit any more. I woke this morning thinking I was in a hospital bed. Couldn’t figure out where I was for a minute.
Take care all I will try to catch up soon. x
I hope you can rest a little Doodle.
You poor soul. It's hardly surprising that you have lost weight and are not sleeping properly. It's been such a hard few months for you.
He is at peace.
I seem to remember having several takeaways during that time and leaving the funeral organisation to the son who was best at it. I just threw in suggestions. His brother did the eulogy but it was during lockdown so we were only allowed 20 people or thereabouts.
It was streamed which was one of the good things to come out of covid.
I shall be thinking of you.
Dearest Doodle, I'd be surprised if you didn't feel disconnected, and tired for that matter. Try and let your sons take control of most of the arrangements now.
It's not surprising that you have lost weight, you have, understandably, been the last thing on your mind. Please try to eat something now, a few of your favourite convenience foods maybe.
I'm hoping you get get some much needed sleep and rest tonight xx
Hoping Doodle managed a good night's sleep and that all her paperwork and organising can be shared around to lighten the load.
Thank you for making time to be with us🌺
First night in my own tonight. So quiet.
Went to church today to light a candle for DH and share a few prayers with the vicar. Got given a lovely prayer shawl to wrap round me. What a lovely thought.
ixion, DH was the most disorganised, organised man. Everything was on spreadsheets and processed but his desk is covered in paper and we’ve had so much post in the the 4 ½ weeks I’ve been away.
Grammaretto, I have eaten some chicken tonight and veg plus a large glass of red wine and some chocolate. I hope I sleep tonight too. I’ve been waking around 4.30 and not gojng back to sleep after.
Cherry sons doing an amazing job, DGS baked me a brownie to cheer me up. I ordered some reading glasses today. I’m struggling to read DHs computer screen even though it’s huge.
Man in the waiting room at the opticians with a two week old baby. I’d forgotten how tiny they are…….and how much noise someone so small can make. 🤣
It's such a lot to get used to all at once Doodle.
I'm glad you are eating and have even managed wine and chocolate.....
Good that your family and friends are nearby.
I hope you sleep well tonight xx
I'm pleased that you're eating and drinking Doodle and that was such a caring thought from your DGS😊. As, indeed, was that in the church. I hope that lighting the candle and sharing prayers with the vicar has been of some help to you and that tonight you will rest and sleep a little better xx
It's wonderful to hear there's such a lot of love, kindness and support around you dear Doodle. We think of you all the time and it's lovely that you still post to us. Nga awhi maha aroha mo koe me te whanau.
Many loving hugs to you and the family.
Nutritious drink if you don't feel like eating chocolate and wine
Pure fruit juice (orange, apple etc) big dollop full cream yoghurt, spoonful honey, banana or any soft fruit. Blend, drink if you can't or don't want solid food. A balanced drink of protein, essential fat, liquid and sugar/honey in one gulp
Sallies lunch today - suspect, corpulent sausages, defrosted veg, some sort of cauliflower mush.
Yum. Gourmet for the indigent.
Ate some but enjoyed the home-made spiced apple sponge pud and custard more.
Amazingly, everyone at my table loved the main course but wasted most of the pud.
Gubbins being Dame Edna Everage.
Grammaretto, First night on my own was ok. It’s not so much the evenings that bother me as I have TV, dinner and bed. It’s the days. They seem so long. I’m not a fan of daytime Tv and find music makes me sad so don’t watch or listen to anything. DH and I used to sit in companionable silence a lot of the time but it’s not the same without him.
Cherry I hope to go back to church services next week. I miss being there.
Kaimoana, glad you enjoyed the pud. Sounds the best bit to me. Love Gubbins in her glasses
Doodle, you've had at a guess forty-odd years of establishing a routine for various stages of your married and family life.
Your mind and body have taken a massive blow to the system, so it is not surprising that you can't settle during the day. I hope something will come along to help you occupy the days.
Church will be a positive help, I am sure.
Early days.
Gubbins continues to delight, Kaimoana. Thank you for providing an opportunity to peek inside her little world!.
May all your buckets soon be empty ones, Grammaretto. Any progress?
Yes 54 years actually Ixion. I am thinking of joining an art group. Having no artistic talent whatsoever they will find me an interesting participant if I pluck up the courage to go 🤣
Good evening 😴
Art classes is a great idea Doodle. I find I can loose myself for hours with anything creative.
Only a couple of days to go and we will be free of the decorator and can start to put everything back. The new carpet we chose is out of stock so it won't all be finished till the 6th June. I was never any good at camping!
Aoife had a trip to the vets today as we thought she'd eaten some heavy duty sandpaper......turned out she'd eaten something more revolting from under the shed....🤢
It's time to sow the running beans and French beans - we have only just finished eating last years' so I will cut back a little I think. For the first time ever I'm having success with aubergines but I'm hoping not to have a glut of those!
Take care everyone.
Doodle I know exactly how you are feeling as I lost my first husband very suddenly over 20 years ago. I used to hate Sundays! Not being in the slightest religious I used to spend Sunday mornings doing supermarket shopping! Usually met someone to chat too! Its hard Doodle its very hard but I hope you will try your art class and hopefully you have good friends to take you out for coffee or lunch.
Sending lots of love Jan xxx
I think you'd enjoy an art class Doodle. That's a great idea.
🎨
You will be missing DH so much. xx
TV is disappointing at most times of day unless there's a particular programme you like to watch.
I now have almost too many things packed into my days. l can hardly keep up.
The water inside the house is worse than outside but a new roofer is supposed to come tomorrow.
I had a visit from the architect today which left a lot to think on. I find it exciting but my DC think I'm unrealistic batty which is difficult.
Gubbins is growing up fast and is so entertaining!
Mamissimo's decorating and new carpet are making me quite jealous.
I shall ask Jeeves to bring us all a drink.
