4 Years On…..Health-wise, Has Anything Changed?

No adverse reactions to my vaccinations , except being off colour for one day after one of them, but had Covid seriously and was hospitalised for twelve days with it. I know which I preferred.

This is a bit of a broad brush question.
Why should Covid vaccination have, or appear to have any connection with the other illnesses you mention?
Is there a reason for asking about the incidence of cancer,stroke or shingles in the last 4 years?

Because two things happen close together does not mean there is a cause and effect.

Approximately 300 people a day have a heart attack, a similar number have a stroke and around 150 are diagnosed with shingles. To mention just 3 of the more obvious health problems that beset people. It is inevitable that some of these illnesses will lay some people low around the time they have their COVID vaccine. It does not follow there is any association between the COVID vaccination and the other illness.

I had the vaccinations but I think I had already had the virus before it became widespread. I am still suffering the effects...it comes in bouts. I will feel perfectly fine for a few weeks then it hits again.
I shan't be suing the government. It was obvious that something like this was going to happen and they should have been prepared. However, you can't prepare a vaccine until you know what the illness is.

I have been dealing with chronic urticaria and angiodoema since the Pfeiser booster two years ago.
Nothing can be done apart from keeping it reasonably under control with 4 anti histamines daily. The medical profession don't accept myproblem is a direct result of the COVID booster.
The discussion forum Reddit is full of, mostly young people, dealing with this very unpleasant skin condition. I am aged 76 and never, ever, had skin problems or allergies of any kind before this happened to me.

I had 4 covid vaccinations. Except for the first one they made me feel really ill and I won’t be having any more.

So far I have not had Covid nor any symptoms from the jabs as far as I’m aware.

I am refraining from commenting , because my pain levels are extremely high , I am a grumpy old woman today and I may be unable to filter my response. 😉

All I will say is that I have already had (I think) ten Covid injections and about to have my eleventh in June, as well having had 'flu and Shingles ones.
I have had reactions to all, but the alternative is worse.
Oh and I don't believe they cause heart attacks etc. However, I am willing to re-evaluate my views if you can provide scientific proof Robin.

I’ve had mild COVID once (possibly more than once) and have had no noticeable after effects from vaccines, except from the very first COVID one - flu-like symptoms the first night only.

I’ve had a very mild dose of shingles since having the vaccine - not bad enough to need the GP. I only knew it was shingles because symptoms were the same as I’d experienced with a worse (but still not very bad) case I’d had several years before having the vaccine.

To answer your perfectly legitimate question, yes I had the vaccine a few times and am happy to report I had no side effects whatsoever. I know a couple of people who did have side effects, quite mild and know of one poor very elderly, in her 90s, lady who reported severe side effects. My own view is that people can often put symptoms down which actually have nothing to do with the vaccine, but who knows. For me I am happy to continue with them and all other vaccines offered by the NHS and will follow the guidance of my health care providers. My children were all vaccinated all those years ago and were fine with all of them.

I'd actually be interested to hear whether things have changed for people since the first covid jab.. as I have become quite severely fatigued.. I don't know whether I suffer from long covid which I had 3 times, like a bad flu, or whether it is caused by something else.. could it be the 6 jabs I've had causing my immune system not to function as effectively or could I have died if I hadn't had the jabs.. I think further research is very valid.. perhaps not on GN but interesting answers nevertheless

No noticeable problems with the vaccine itself, but my adult daughter was left with auto-immune hepatitis as a result of covid.

I had the Moderna vaccine about a week ago and have felt lousy on and off since - aching and shivering and cold sweats. Never had that with any of the other vaccinations.

The thing is, all those conditions you mention in your initial post could happen to people whether they had of the covid vaccinations or not.
Some things that happen are pure coincidence, not necessarily a result of, something else you have had, such as a vaccination.

Well, quite.

This is the problem with anti-vaxxers, though I'm not suggesting the OP is one; and there's nothing wrong with having a 'questioning' mind on such matters - but they tend believe that any ailment post vaccine is caused by it.

We all know that some people react to the jab, and there are reports of adverse effects. But I don't believe this information has been hidden - you can read about it on various NHS websites, and in various academic papers. But anti-vaxxers seem to think there's an agenda, which ranges in scope from the highly-unlikely to the frankly-ludicrous.
