To mask or not to mask if might have Covid

Being sensible I’ve put mask on, spraying door handles etc with anti viral spray, ordered tests and will test in 5 days. Can’t wear a mask all that time so will spend time in the garden even if it rains which it likely will.

Being a bit of a hypochondriac this is going to be a nerve wracking 10 days. Not had Covid before and never had to do a test before either. Pull yourself together woman. I’m already worried about dh seeing Dr on Thursday.

The tests aren't as bad as they used to be; at first we were told to swirl the cotton bud right up our nostrils and swab our throats but I was told at the hospital when they did a test there thst it wasn't necessary, just a lower nostril swab is sufficient.

It is, as I found out about six weeks ago when I tested positive.

Yes, I'd wear a mask, keep clear of your DH and hand wash regularly even before making a drink.
I hope you don't feel too bad and that your DH doesn't catch it.

I made a vow to always wear a mask on public transport. I wish I’d heeded my own advice. On a train on Saturday a man near me had a heavy cough. Now I have a heavy cold and cough and am feeling very rough. Not sure if I caught it from him of course. I’d give a plug too for Vick’s First Defence. I think it really works. I must remember to practice what I preach!

Buy the tests, of you test negative a couple of times leave the mask off.

We have covid atm and is horrid. The nights are the worse. If you can avoid giving it to your DH who is vulnerable please try to do so.

Make sure you wear a mask when close to your DH, otherwise if you are elsewhere in the house take it off, would suggest you stay in different parts of the house during the day to avoid you having to mask up all the time. If you DH is not well, recovering from a chest infection, perhaps ask him to remain in the bedroom for now with books/mags or other things to occupy him, and only put on your mask when you go in there with meals etc. You can order tests online with amazon to arrive the next day. Once you have taken two tests that are negative take off the mask and just carry on as normal.

Even I would wear one under those sorts of cicumstances.

Test are easily available to buy, you could have it with no symptoms but pass it on, I would wear one until I knew if my husband was vulnerable.

If you haven't tested positive and feel well on a couple of days, I think it would be fine to leave the mask off.

The mask can only be helpful, if inconvenient. For your DH's sake, I would wear a mask.

I don’t have a test kit and if I haven’t contacted Covid and have no symptoms is it really necessary? Dh relies on me looking after him atm so I can’t just shut myself away. We do have separate bedrooms and I’m always washing my hands with antibacterial liquid soap.

I’d wear it with agreement you’ll test for a few days, if positive, keep it on.
