We were burgled, just the once, tho' I strongly suspect it was me who, in the flurry to get all small children and friends into the car and away, omitted to shut the front door properly.
The ba***rds cleared out all my family jewellery, both vintage and sentimental, but apart from that, all that went was an ancient Xerox office photocopier (a two-man lift at the best of times from the basement) and a very old hefty secondhand tv (money was tight in them days) - the sort where you would wait for the valves to warm up.
The only way to get the picture to stop rolling was to get one of the children to jump on a particular floorboard in front of the screen. They had worked out which one ...

In the doghouse here, after I suggested, during FaceTime, that DGS1 show me his newly learned ju-jitsu skills, at which point the iPad was launched unceremoniously into the air with some sort of specialist kick manoeuvre, shattering the screen to smithereens.
The lad has to save up for a replacement by carrying out jobs about the house.
