I went with two friends to Saville Gardens in Windsor today. Beautiful gardens and a lovely sunny day. Walked a long way. I was tired when I got home but it was a good day.
Kaimoana i feel so sad about your DGD coming to the Uk. I know how much you love her. Any news on the job front for your son.? I wish your eyesight could be improved. I can’t imagine how you cope. Sending you big cwtches.

Evening all.
Had a nice day in church today. Went for walk this afternoon and sat by the river with my friend for a while. We originally went for coffee but it was so sunny and nice we had a glass of wine instead. 😊

I hope your tabletop sale was as successful as yesterday, Grammaretto. Is your American helper going home now?

So glad you had a wine-worthy afternoon, Doodle - no chance here, where it's been chucking it down all day. Talking of weather, I have completely forgotten to look out this evening for the blood moon.

Mr.I is ecstatic that he is the proud owner of a minuscule bunch of grapes from his much tended and grossly over-hyped vine.
I don't think he will be appearing on Countryfile any time soon as a new centre of viticulture, nor will he be a threat to Grandmafrench's extensive wine cellars.

It has been photographed from every angle and all rabbits, friends and relations are being invited to share the sight.
I think the sampling comes later ...

I looked for the blood moon this evening but cloud obscured any trace.

We took well over £100 at the jumble sale of preloved treasures.
I've sent that money to Medical aid for Palestinians. There's a Scottish doctor who has lived out there for 25 years who is still able to help in some way. She's in Lebanon and has advised us to donate to that charity.
There's hardly a dent in the clutter.
I sold quite a few pots too. There are 5 of us exhibiting our work. Most made sales.

It's my Helper's last night. She's going to near London tomorrow. Apparently there's a tube strike but I'm sure she will find her way. She's very resourceful.
We went to the cinema tonight to see the film about some of the papermill workers. It was partly filmed in my house. I've seen it before and think it's very good.

I see my lodgers occasionally. Infact he appeared with perfect timing to bring down the heavy A boards we'd had in the street to direct people to the house. He said he was glad to be useful.

Apart from NotSpag who has the wretched op coming up, everyone of us has had some good times. At least the Lobstars we know about.

Oh but I had such a lovely time last night Grammaretto -
Met up with some old friends at a beer festival (haven't been to one of those for probably 20 years!) and we laughed and laughed and laughed like drains.

We love them so much.
Our shared outlook on life and the same sense of humour means that we always feel 1,000 times better for seeing them.

The ridiculous (and uncomfortable) problems of just growing older bring hoots of joy instead of pain, the silly stories of the families we brought up alongside each other, now all adults, reminds us of our younger selves all those years ago.

We formed strong bonds as young parents and every time we meet it feels just like we saw them yesterday. We say "we mustn't leave it so long next time" and then life intervenes!

Anyway, it was lovely - and as a bonus there was a noisy band on in one area so nobody told us off for "laughing too much" which they did at one of our get-togethers some years ago.

...they don't even live all that far away! "We must do this more often!"

I'm so glad you had a great time at the beer fest NotSpaghetti. All that laughter is the best therapy.

The word for festival in Gaelic is Fèis, pronounced Fesh.
However the word for sexual, pertaining to sex is feiseil, no accent pronounced feshal.

We are taught to be careful about accents. 😅

Grammaretto my two younger daughters did Irish dancing for years.
They had competitions (but only of the friendlier sort) and they were individually called a feis (fesh) and if there were several I think they were feisanna. It apparently means "festival/festivals" too.

Maybe it has an accent - I can't remember.

The older one was extremely good at it, more competitive, and had some tricky solos - but the younger one liked the set work best.

There is something fabulous about the very tight artistry of this form of dance.

I did Scottish dance at school and as the children were growing did enjoy a cèilidh with friends if we visitedthem in Scotland or met up in Northumberland in a decent group - but we always needed a good caller as didn't do it often enough.

Went to coffee at the Christian Fellowship this morning. Lovely chat with others and smashing cake. Then went to lunch with friends. No need for dinner tonight.

Ixion I’m glad Mr I is pleased with his grapes. I’m sure they are much admired, perhaps he could turn them into a miniature bottle of wine.

OK. I still have been waking up in the middle if the night a few times but on the whole I'm a bit less scardy cat!

I'm trying to find new carers for my mother-in-law today and tomorrow as she's decided she doesn't need the current lot and has given them notice...
Maybe my "waking brain" is too full of this chaos to panic properly!

The surgeon, anaesthetist, clinical pharmacist, one of the nurses and a health care assistant have all been terrific.
Have had 2 lots of morphine (oromorph) and waiting for a new morphine based drug to kick in.

Have been a bit dizzy and feeling sick a bit but besides feeling that a bus has obviously run me over I'm doing pretty well.

Practiced standing and also walked to the loo so that's good.

I had a short visit from my oldest daughter. who took my husband home for dinner and then brought him back for a quick goodnight.

My dear husband has been here much of the day I do truly know I am so very blessed.

Droopy pom poms is nothing to worry about really! I think mine have been droopy for years!

It's been a long day. I'm on a slow bus home after an evening meeting in Edinburgh.
I went swimming this afternoon, just in the pool, nothing fancy. There were only 3 of us there and as many lifeguards !!

I bought some very comfy shoes today at the garden centre. I also did some essential shopping at Lakeland. There are so many kitchen gadgets you never knew you needed. Infact you didn't know they existed. 😮

I left my raincoat at the hall after yoga so I hope it doesn't rain for the next week. It's a 20minute drive away and never seems to be open.

I hope you have stopped feeling sick NotSpag. At least you aren't being thrown out after one night, as I was NotSpag. They either needed my bed or needed to close for New Year so I was told I could go.
I had to alert my DS who drove through snow from Edinburgh on 1st January. luckily he wasn't too hungover and deposited me at my cold house. Nothing organised wirh the GP practice or nurse. It was good to be home so I was more amazed than sorry.

I've just finished my shift at the community store. Not quite as crazily busy as last week but one poor woman couldn't get her card to work and discovered it had been stopped by her bank as someone had taken £500 from her account. She was beside herself with worry and about to take her DGC to Centre Parc for the weekend.

Grammaretto that's quite a big thing to be "encouraged" home.
They told me I could probably go tonight if I really wanted to but I'm unbelievably anxious about my long and twisty stairs and so am aiming for some more stair practice so I'm more confident tomorrow.
The really lovely physio said not to rush.
My family are very supportive of what I want to do.
I don't really want to stay but I'm resigned to it for now.

My nature is to just "bite the bullet" but I've just got to accept that I'm a bit wimpy today.
