Sit fit was good Grammaretto it’s a U3A one and run by a retired physiotherapist. Lots of people attend as it’s so good. You could try and see if you have anything similar around.
Yes good to see some sunshine. Still quite chilly but everything looks brighter in the sun

Grammaretto Tue 03-Mar-26 21:03:14

Hello Lobstars!
I'm using the excuse of not feeling too well to skip Gaelic class this evening. I've been on the phone instead.

We have had a beautiful sunny day here though not as warm as England. It was so mild in Cambridge.
I was wondering why I wore my boots until I remembered how cold it was here. There was ice on the ground.

I'm going to have another look at the house for sale tomorrow so that's exciting.

I hope your throat is not sore anymore Doodle and glad you enjoyed having your friends round. That sounds fun.
How was sitfit? My Tuesday exercise class has stopped now for me. I only get 12 classes from the NHS so now I'm on my own! 😯
I did some gardening and sat with my pottery friend drinking tea and admiring the washing on the line.

Now I shall go to bed. It's early but that is fine.

Night night. xx

NN what lovely plans you have to meet up with friends. I need to lose weight too but find the pain in my hip makes walking difficult. Perhaps in my case I should just eat less.
Grammaretto sounds like a nice trip and time spent with family. Glad your throat is feeling better.
My throat is bad in the mornings but gets easier as the day goes on. Had three friends round today. Sit fit tomorrow to work off some calories from all the cake I’ve eaten

Grammaretto Mon 02-Mar-26 12:57:27

How exciting NN!
The time will go quickly I'm sure and you will be even fitter for the journey.

And you have Ireland in the middle.

At last I'm on the fast train whose first stop is Newcastle. Now I feel terribly guilty because a woman asked me if it would stop at Wakefield. I only hope someone else gave her better advice 😯

I had a really nice time with lots of reminiscing about the past with my DSis and DB. My throat is a lot better now. My sister and I walked around the Botanic gardens yesterday. We were searching for a particular tree, an American chestnut oak. Quercus Montana, and eventually found a small group of oak trees but they were very small indeed.

My DD had sent me on this mission. She wants something from these particular trees for a printing project she is working on.

Meanwhile we enjoyed the Spring blossom and bulbs.

Naughtyneine Mon 02-Mar-26 09:27:34

I hope all the poorly people begin to feel better very soon.
Kaimoana... What a grrrr moment at being postponed... everything crossed that the reschedule goes ahead.
Doodle... impromptu things are sometimes so much better than pre planned ones aren't they....
We have finally booked out Caribbean Honeymoon cruise....it's not until next Feb, we wanted to go this year but with the uncertainty of the op we couldn't.
Breaking wth tradition DH's best friend ( and best man) and my best friend ( and 'bridesmaid') are coming too

*We are also going to Cobh in Southern Ireland in June in Maeve Mouse Maeve M'ini'
H'ouse' aka the Motorhome*
We are going to meet up with the couple who were my very first Airbnb hosts, they lived in Mount Gambier in Australia and I was driving the Great Ocean Road from Adelaide to Melbourne. We only spent a few hours together but got on so well and here we are meeting up again after over 10 years
Hopefully I will be fit and able ( and a stone lighter) by then... I'm still in a lot of pain which I thought would be lessening by now...in my groin and through my femur. It's a catch 22 as I want to walk and increase my fitness but the pain is limiting me. Mr NN continues to be so encouraging. It was 7 years yesterday that we started talking...and spent ages yesterday reminiscing and being thankful for the blessings that have come our way....neither of us take it for granted and never willβ™₯️

ixion Sun 01-Mar-26 20:25:17

Are you on your way back, Grammaretto, or staying over longer?
Sorry you're not feeling great 🌺

Doodle Sun 01-Mar-26 20:23:03

Kaimoana so sorry about the postponement. You get geared up for things then they change the plan. Sending hugs.
Church this morning for me then got in tied to impromptu lunch with friends. Very nice.

Grammaretto Sun 01-Mar-26 19:25:38

Spring has sprung where you are Ixion.
It's sprung here too. This is Cambridge.

ixion Sun 01-Mar-26 09:20:55

I did post almost straightaway last night to say how sorry I was, but no pink post highlighting here must mean I didn't press send. Grr.

Lovely day here today, I think I might remove the cages over my tubs of bulbs at last.

Grammaretto Sun 01-Mar-26 08:54:38

Drat Kaimoana more waiting. It's not as though at our age we have all the time in the world.

Sorry I've given you my sore throat Doodle 😭
It's very sore, a real spoiler.

The party was fun and some of my sister's friends were familiar from 10 years ago at her last big bash. But my gt nephews and nieces are teenagers now and very different.

My DB and wife are here too. I just wish I was well.

NotSpaghetti Sat 28-Feb-26 23:40:43

Oh no!
How frustrating.

Kaimoana2 Sat 28-Feb-26 22:17:18

It's been postponed, 'sometime in late March" was the latests advice.

Doodle Sat 28-Feb-26 21:34:47

Grammaretto I’ve got a sore throat too. You’ve given me your bug 😑
Seriously, hope you have a good trip and enjoy the party.

Doodle Sat 28-Feb-26 21:33:34

Goodness me too, hope all went well. Love and hugs. πŸ₯°

NotSpaghetti Sat 28-Feb-26 21:29:59

Oh crikey, I'd lost track of the date/time
Gentle hugs and all good wishes Kaimoana

Grammaretto Sat 28-Feb-26 10:49:27

I hope your operation went well Kaimoana and you can breathe again .

ixion Sat 28-Feb-26 09:59:47

Was it the 28th for your 'procedure', Kaimoana?
If so, hoping it went well - and that I've got the time difference right.

Kaimoana2 Fri 27-Feb-26 23:07:45

"I'm going on a long train journey tomorrow to stay with my sister who's having a birthday party."
And no doubt your sore throat 2 days hence! grin

It's not often I hear a joke but our Elder's lunch always begine with a Bible reading and then a 'funny'

A driver had been tailgating the slow car in front and shouting horrible curses and threats.
When the line of cars halted at a red light, a police officer, who had been driving behind the tailgater , approached and ordered the irate driver to get out.
He began to issue the standard statement prior to an arrest.
"Hold on," said the tailgater, "what are you arresting me for?"
"I heard you swearing but saw the stickers on the back of the car: a fish, the slogan "God Loves You", and "Forgive as Jesus Did" so I knew you'd stolen the car".

ixion Fri 27-Feb-26 22:13:21

Do hope you wake refreshed and fit to travel, Grammaretto.
Enjoy your time away.

Grammaretto Fri 27-Feb-26 22:08:26

It was a joke. She's the friend who invited me for Christmas lunch so a lovely lady.

I seem to be going down with something. I have a very sore throat. Such a nuisance as I'm going on a long train journey tomorrow to stay with my sister who's having a birthday party.

Luckily my Friday friend couldn't come this evening so I froze the food, have packed, dosed myself with hot toddies and everything in the medicine cupboard and gone to bed.

See you tomorrow lovely Lobstars xxxx

Doodle Fri 27-Feb-26 21:12:50

Ooh Grammaretto that’s not nice. A bit like Kaimoana i Hope you stamped on their feet.
I’m off to church tomorrow for our church tidy and clean. Last year I did the brass. Took me forever.

Kaimoana2 Fri 27-Feb-26 02:26:27

What a horrible thing to say.
I hope someone dances on their corns. wink

Grammaretto Thu 26-Feb-26 23:19:00

It's ok Doodle The glass stayed inside its frame.
When I told the people at ceilidh dancing tonight they all laughed cruelly and said the mirror must have cracked when I looked in it πŸ˜₯

Doodle Thu 26-Feb-26 21:21:44

Oh Grammaretto what a difficult thing to clear up. Hope you managed to find all the glass. Sounds like a big mirror too.
Ooh I’d love to see a photo of your Wild West outfit. Calamity Jane, Annie Oakley……. Wonderful

Grammaretto Thu 26-Feb-26 14:09:05

I wrote a disappearing post late last night. I tried to share a photo and pressed the wrong button.

I broke a mirror this morning. It was a full length one but just propped up in my bedroom. I am hoping it means the end of 7 years of bad luck rather than the start.
πŸ€πŸ€žπŸ™πŸ˜Ÿ
I popped into a charity shop and there was a mirror almost identical for Β£6.
So the good luck has begun.

Sorry to hear that your delicate skin was broken during your ECG Kaimoana . 😒
Exciting times in a Mustang though.

The theme for the potters' fancy dress ceilidh next month is Wild West. 🀠 🐎 😲

Theo's games made me laugh Jan thanks.
πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Glad you enjoyed church Doodle and that art group goes well too.
