How many G&S fans are there out there? I didn't discover them till I was in my 30's. I love the Mikado, Pirates and Pinafore, and who saw Topsy Turvey? I have the DVD and it never fails to cheer me up.
Sullivan's music is divine and I love the clever patter songs too.
Has anyone been to the Buxton festival?
It's on my List Of Things I Want To Do Before I Die. (Quite a long list!)

Ella your not the only one !
My late FiL was a huge fan. Before DH and I married I would spend weekends at his parents house. Sunday mornings I would have to suffer hours of G&S

Belong to a choir which often features G&S bits and pieces. And believe me, some of them are not at all easy to sing. My tongue could not move fast enough for the Tra-la-la chorus in The Mikado - which DH says must be wrong!

But I've seen many and enjoyed most, my favourite being Pirates of Penzance, including a wonderful 'spoof' version by a troupe called Illyria - only 7 peeps - but totally hilarious and not a little rude. G&S must be turning in their graves! Catch Illyria if you can, and don't be put off by my comments they are great entertainment.

Parody, politics and music - a very heady mix.
