Yes, that's the latest advice from the NHS, I believe...grin

it helps you 'disinhibit' if you are a bit uptight!

That's where we've been going wrong, jingl - not stoned or drunk enough...confused

Even my nearly 90 yr old mother was bopping at the end of Mama Mia. We'd been upgraded to a box and the bar was through the door at the back so that might have had something to do with it. wink

I can't get disinhibited. It just feels false - and embarrassing!

I hate it when people in front of me get too enthusiastic and start leaning forward so that I can't see. The group in the OP sound lovely though. smile

Not my type of thing at all! [miserable old git emoticon]

I clap and sing along if others do. I wouldn't want to obstruct anyone's view though.

Oh yes! Mama Mia; We will Rock You and best of all Chas and Dave. DH taps his feet but I sing and wave my arms which I'm sure he finds embarrassing

Mamma Mia - yes, Rosenkavalier- I resist the temptation smile

All three DDs and I went o see the stage version of Dirty Dancing which was totally ruined by the people all around us joining in and dancing. They had obviously seen it dozens of times but we couldn't see a flipping thing. Most of them had had a tad too much to drink as well and didn't take kindly to be asked to sit down!

I was so incensed that I started a thread! grin

I am always on my feet singing and dancing when they reprise the songs at the end. If I go to a concert (Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi etc., ) I am on my feet the whole time

I was on my feet singing, albeit many years ago when I saw "We will Rock You". Not at the beginning but towards the end the entire audience were on their feet and singing.

My son treated me and his partner to a night out for a meal and to watch 'Mamma Mia' at Blackpool Winter Gardens. Not really my cup of tea, I thought - I prefer Rocky Horror or Jersey Boys. It was much as I expected, quite corny and soppy (great Abba songs), but I found I really enjoyed it. It was all the more fun because a group of adults with learning disabilities sat in front of us, singing their heads off, playing imaginary drums, jumping up with excitement and generally showing us how to have a good time. Seeing it through their eyes made a good evening better. I can honestly say it's a long time since I let myself go and danced and sang my head off like that in the theatre.

How disinhibited do you get when you go to watch a musiical?
