No, the mum did everything. Tidied up beautifully. The wee things had all their fur and their eyes open, and were running round as soon as they were cleaned up. They knew where to go for the milk, and by the end of the day, when they saw their mum eating her food, they had a go at that too. They were weaned in about two and a half weeks, and old enough to go to new homes in six.
We had taken in an old male whose partner had died, purely for him to keep our female company, but he fathered three lots of babies before he snuffed it. While the babies were at home, they all lived very happily together, snuggled up in a pile to nap.
