It was not in the school in fact but in the local village hall. I still regard it as being totally inappropriate as a means of raising funds for a primary school - and have concerns about the teachers who enjoyed it (and indeed helped to organise it) who will be influencing young minds on personal relationships. It was not even a light-hearted stripping but seriously hard core. I think it is dreadful.

luckygirl was there no further adverse reaction from others at the school about having a stripper. IMO it is totally inapropriate to have that in a school.

I must admit that since watching the video I've been listening to a CD of Russell Watson singing 'naice' songs just to get the images out of my head.
I do find it very troubling though that many girls of 14-16 who listen to and watch this sort of thing then learn the words and practice the 'dances' in front of younger siblings who want to copy them.

Lucky - I do think it's a minefield as if voices are raised in opposition to such things then the objectors are accused of being prudish, moralistic etc. But without a doubt I WOULD have objected to such a fundraising scheme if it had been mooted at any school I was associated with.

Mary Whitehouse got a bad press, but I think maybe she saw the slippery slope.

It is just as well you posted the lyrics as I could not hear a word on the video, and am now quite glad I couldn't. It s pathetic stuff. Let us hope that our GC have the wisdom and guidance to see this for what it is - porn.

Incidentally a school in this county - I will not mention its name, but DEFINITELY NOT the one where I am governor - staged a fund-raising Ladies Night organised by the PSA (that is Parent STAFF Association) which consisted of a male stripper, who did not confine himself to merely undressing - I will say no more. Pure pornography, organised on the name of supporting primary age children and with the blessing of those staff members on the PSA. Would you want one of these teachers to be influencing your child's moral compass and possibly teaching them about sex and relationships? - I know I would not.
