The choir I'm in is currently doing Summer Breeze by the Isley Brothers. I think it's a beautiful song about ordinary, everyday love - not soppy hearts and flowers romanticism.

Which songs are your favourites?

There are so many, but I love
You`re my Best Friend, by Don Williams,
and
Behind Closed Doors, by Charlie Rich.

Oh I love 'behind closed doors'.

The most beautiful girl in the world.
Is that by Charlie Rich?

Every Time That You Walk in the Room, The Searchers
Halfway to Paradise, Billy Fury
Can't Live, Neilson (I think that's the correct title).
So many more.

The power of love. The cheesy, Jennifer Rush version.
Also the Frankie goes to Hollywood song of the same name.

Also by them 'you're my best friend'

Dolly Parton's version of I will always love you.

Time In A Bottle by Jim Croce is just beautiful, always brings a tear to my eye, and I love The Long & Winding Road by The Beatles, plus My Love by Paul McCartney.

DH & I have an "our" song , which is The Nearness Of You. We are both sloppy romantics, what can I say!

We've Only Just Begun - Carpenters
I Close My Eyes and Count to Ten - Dusty Springfield
Hello Young Lovers - Deborah Kerr in The King and I
The Folks Who Live On the Hill - Peggy Lee
This Guy's In Love With You - Herb Alpert

There are loads more but my brain's gone to sleep.

Oh MissAdventure I cannot listen to Drive by cars after they used it during LiveAid. A memory that haunts me I'm afraid. Beautiful love song though. Also agree Those were the days of our lives
Another good love song is Foreigner

Isn't She Lovely by Stevie Wonder

Isn't she lovely?
Isn't she wonderful?
Isn't she precious?
Less than one minute old…

Pure love of a father for his new born child

Great choices.

MissAdventure Thu 22-Jul-21 15:53:00

For the good times. (I think that's what it's called, and I think it's by Perry Como?)

'I Just Called to say I Love You' Was that Stevie Wonder?

Annie's song - John Denver.

Oh yes.

And many others on here.

I listened to this one on the car radio the other day. I'm not normally a Julio fan (a bit schmaltzy for me) but thought this lovely:
When You Tell Me That You Love Me by Dolly Parton and Julio Iglesias

Me too.
It's very sad seeing lovely old Freddie, looking so very frail in the video, too.

Written by Kris Kristofferson and recorded by him, by Bill Nash and by Perry Como.

My Mum loved Perry Como.

This song is so beautiful, the music is so beautiful, he is so beautiful, his voice is so beautiful. It's timeless and just touches your soul.
