Oh, okay, I sort of get it!

If I was to try to represent OCD I wouldn’t do anything at all like that.
My dad had OCD for a long time, thankfully no longer.
To me it’s a lack, or an absence, of control, rather than the presence of it.
It’s more like a feeling and a fear of chaos; and the action of trying to overcome it.
It could also be seen as a sort of vicious circle too.

I am here quoting the post by MissAdventure that inspired this discussion about the grid of buttons, twenty-four white, one pink, to be placed on a 5 by 5 grid.

The idea being where would people place the pink button and why.

So there were posts answering that question, as posed.

Yet the discussion has widened, one person removed the pink button and left a space, another person stacked buttons on some squares, not others.

Then the concept of "more to come" arose.

Then, well what is the "more" and where will it be placed.

Then the idea of swapping the pink button for a dark green one.

Then the idea of making a copy of the first grid and its buttons and altering the copy.

What I find interesting is the way that the art is developing by the interaction of the thoughts of a number of people.

I suggested the original, but I had not thought of the other ideas that are arriving in the thread.

So please join in, Fanny.

For example, could it be that in rows 3 through to 5 at columns 11 through to 13 there is a newly produced grid point and at each of those nine new grid points there is placed a light blue button?

Or something else?

Re. the buttons; I would close my eyes and let the pink button drop onto the grid. Wherever it landed would be where I would place it. And the white buttons would be placed around the pink one, but piled on top of one another, thus leaving the majority of the grid bare. The pink button would thus be protected, as in my mind, it’s the beating heart of the whole piece.

If the pink button is placed on any of the nine inner grid points, then the protection could be with three buttons piled up on each of the eight nearest grid points that are nearest to the grid point upon which the pink button is placed.

But what if the pink button is placed on an edge point or a corner point?

Do the piles go off the grid onto imaginary points - imaginary but their positions discernable - or do the piles stay on the grid, and if so, how are they placed?

Elegran this is very interesting - I see the pink button as "heavier" and grounded in a mass of white. It would be somewhere bottom left for me.
Not on the bottom row as that is just wrong!!

Definitely NOT in the middle as that is obvious and signifies nothing and not top right as that is too uncomfortable... I suppose if I wanted it to be awkward I might put it there.

I also think if I was looking at, say "oppression" or "hostage" I may reconsider the centre position to be honest Chewbacca
