No-one seems to have started a thread so here goes!

Lewis Capaldi is on at the moment, good to see him performing after his health challenges last year. DGD had booked to see him but he cancelled because he was unwell.
He's so much more enjoyable to listen than today's rappers!

I'm looking forward to seeing The Searchers. 🙂

*Always have to laugh when someone says 'who is so-and-so anyway'? Just makes the person sound really out of touch*

I think it’s a bit odd when older people ( and most on here are well over 60 ) want to ‘be in touch’ with ‘pop music’ & new artists. We’re not their audience 😀

I agree, it sounds too much like claiming to be down wiv da kids 😄
I’m def out of touch, so many at Glasto I’d never heard of and don’t mind admitting it.
Rod does look good, or at least not much different to how he used to look (not always the same thing) but like Paul McCartney his voice has gone. However if fans still like to see them then it’s all good.

I was cooking last night [had food that needed cooking and had to wait till it was a bit cooler] but in the end went and sat in the living room with the light off watching Prodigy. It's a good job the dog is off on holiday with her dad as she hates loud noises [it's probably why I don't play music as much as I used to]. I thought nothing could top Neil Young but they came close. And, the good thing is they're on iplayer so I can watch them again!

Watching them now!

I was looking for that too, Jaxjacky - all I could find was Olivia Rodrigo. Mind you, The Prodigy will never be the same without Keith.

They were amazing tonight. Should have been on the Pyramid stage imo. I was never a big fan back in the day* but I’m a convert now.
*until I realised that Keith did dressage but, alas he wasn’t with us for much longer after that RIP. The new singer is awesome. Was he in the band before or did he replace Keith?
I started watching Olivia whoever she is until there was a full on camera shot of her crotch ( was that intentional or an embarrassing mistake shock ?) and thankfully I switched over.

That's Maxim - he's an original member of the band and used to do vocals alongside Keith.
Yes, Keith loved horses - he was also very much into motorbike racing. I know a couple of people who met him through that and said he was the nicest person, a total contrast from his stage persona.

Rod is wearing well and put on a good show but his voice is way past its best which is only natural at 80.

Not a fan of Simply Red but Mick Hucknall can still sing, and so can Lulu who was looking good.

Loved all the musicians and backing singers, and loved those little red ankle boots (and the gold ones) the young women were wearing.

Pleased to watch it from my sofa as I found the aerial views of the huge crowds overwhelming.

Prodigy, fantastic closing act on " other " stage closed Glastonbury with an amazing set.

Rod was way past his best, but at 80 much more energetic than most of us, it was a good sing along to round off Glastonbury, next one in 2 yrs time is the plan

Flicked through GLASO but I flicked it off. Not for me this year!

Just watching Sir Rod on iPlayer. I’m 10 years behind him - I hope I’m still as fit as he is at 80! I’ve never been a fan of Simply Red, but I love watching Rod Stewart live. Lulu’s looking good too at 76! I’ve always admired her hair styles. The only disappointment was that Rod didn’t sing ‘Can’t Stop Me Now’, the song he wrote in memory of his Dad. I love that song. 😎
Next year I’d like to see Metallica on the Legends stage. They’re touring though, so maybe in 2027?

Not on next year…

On TV!!

Jaxjacky Sun 29-Jun-25 21:55:37

No sign of Prodigy on atavistic

merlotgran Sun 29-Jun-25 21:51:00

I would love to see Simply Red at Glasto. They last performed in 1986 I think.

NanKate Sun 29-Jun-25 21:39:51

I thought Lulu was great and loved her outfit. All white tassels.

Mick Hucknall also good also.

Enjoyed most of Rod’s set.

mamaa Sun 29-Jun-25 21:00:54

Thus far I’ve enjoyed Pulp, Sir Rodney (with guests), Nile Rodgers and Snow Patrol…caught a bit of Gary Numan but was a bit too weird for my tastes x

Nannylovesshopping Sun 29-Jun-25 20:58:42

Am loving Rod tonight❤️

Deedaa Sun 29-Jun-25 20:53:15

I enjoyed Neil Young yesterday and I'm loving Rod Stewart tonight. Mick Hucknall and Ronnie Wood too! It's gone downhill a bit with Lulu. I may be biased because DH used to drive her in the 70s and didn't like her at all. He also drove Olivia Newton John and he adored her!

merlotgran Sun 29-Jun-25 20:41:16

And Mick Hucknall can still sing!

Saints be Praised. 😂

glammagran Sun 29-Jun-25 20:40:32

My favourite act yesterday was Yussef Dayes. It was melodic and calming, almost ethereal. DH enjoyed Neil Young.

My evening's not dull at all. Watching Glastonbury - and not having to ask 'who's that'? wink

Good for you. Glad it’s cheering you up. I’m also watching it.

kittylester Sun 29-Jun-25 20:30:39

Isn't he!!

And Mick Hucknall can still sing!

dogsmother Sun 29-Jun-25 20:27:08

Well I’m loving Rod Stewart and as for the sax player, he’s really, really good.
