Lewis Capaldi is on at the moment, good to see him performing after his health challenges last year. DGD had booked to see him but he cancelled because he was unwell.
He's so much more enjoyable to listen than today's rappers!
I'm looking forward to seeing The Searchers. π

I understand he eulogised about Enoch Powell back in the day. He did give a good performance. But it still leaves a nasty taste in my mouth.
I assume you know the political allegiances of all your favourite bands and only follow them if their views align with yours?

Rod Stewart was brilliant at being Rod Stewart. Fabulous
Yes but don't forget kittylester he's only allowed to be brilliant if you agree with his politics ππ
I think he's brilliant too π
I certainly donβt agree with his politics, a Reform supporter ?
no way
Very emotional
Rod Stewart a legend on the Pyramid Stage in the legend slot.
Well done πππππππππ

I saw Charlie Wotsit from the business he sold, Pimlico Plumbers recently and thought it was Rod Stewart at first π

Both the Eavis family and the rappers need to be questioned about this, it was no innocent mistake or youthful zeal.
Totally agree

Seems antisemitic comments can be political ? not true
I was using political in the widest sense of the word. But I think some on here are determined to twist my comments for reasons known only to themselves.

Sorry, Anniebach, I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to get that with that remark. I've quite clearly stated that I'm not condoning what was said. I'm just pointing out that both acts were already well known for their very forthright political views, so the organisers knew exactly what they were letting themselves in for.
Political views or not what they done was wrong, no ifs nor buts just out and out wrong!
Imagine being Jewish in that crowdβ¦
Again, for the sake of clarity, I'm NOT condoning what was said. I'm making no excuses for either act at all.
However, the whole furore reminds me of when the Sex Pistols appeared on Bill Grundy's show and the outrage which followed.
The TV people knew exactly what they were doing when they got them on the show - they wanted them to do something outrageous, and it worked. Same thing here. You'd have to have been living in a box not to know what both Kneecap and Bob Vylan were likely to do when they got on stage at Glastonbury. If the organisers are claiming otherwise, they're lying through their teeth.
Rod Stewart so much better than I expected
Showing the young folk what it's all about.
Looking forward to Nile Rodgers

The organisers knew exactly what they were getting when they booked both Bob Vylan and Kneecap - both are extremely well known for their outspoken views, so it shouldn't come as any surprise that they took full advantage of a platform like Glastonbury to get maximum publicity for them.
I'm not condoning what they said, by the way, but I cut my musical teeth in the heyday of punk, when some of the bands we saw then were extremely political (and I dare say outrageous to some) in their views.
Yet again βI think it wrong but !.β,
Not playing the βoh we were all young onceβ card here, the crowd happily yelling for the death of Israelis is cutting edge fashion right now amongst certain types.
The Eavis family are clueless. The rappers themselves should be arrested for incitement, the crowds will slink off feeling on a high that theyβve been brave and daring and rather wonderful as they sip their lattes.
Ha ha it wasn't rebellious, it couldn't have been more middle class acceptable views if it tried.
Neither Kneecap or Bob Vylan should have been allowed to play at Glastonbury.
Kneecap advocated killing Conservative MPs, a few months ago. One of the band has been charged.
Bob Vylan urged for the death of Jews.
That is not entertaining it is rabble rousing at its worst.
Anyone putting this things down to acts of youth need to give their heads a wobbleβ¦

I think sometimes people confuse sympathy for the ordinary people of Gaza with antisemitism. The majority of the crowd yesterday are probably in the former camp rather than being antisemitic.
They cheered antisemitic speak, this is antisemitism
That argument is purist. We have all been young, and many of us were full of anger at the injustices of the world when we were. Whether it is the right thing to do must seem less material when you are in the moment - how many people used that argument when people were rioting, and are they the same people who are now condemning the actions yesterday?
I condemned the riots and I condemn antisemitism ,
