I'm watching The Biggest Loser at the moment and last night caught a little of Big and Biggest. I watch these programmes to get inspiration to keep me on my diet and warn me of the terrible risks and problems I may have if I don't. The Biggest Loser is what the tabloids call ' car crash television' some unfortunate people who have managed to lose weight any other way subject themselves to a terrible humiliation and some excellent support in exercise (we do don't see the food bit on this programme). Last night they had to pull a double decker bus along a road in order to win the prize of a letter from home. This may be good TV but I strongly suspect the negative aspects of the course outweigh the benefits. would any of us subject ourselves to this? Big and Biggest showed two people taken to Crete to a family of hugely obese people which was supposed to be a detrrent. The most interesting thing was that we were told 1 in 3 Greek people are obese - are they eating their way out of the recession?
