glassortwo Thu 23-Feb-12 23:02:53

Its ok I have found it smile

Jacey Thu 23-Feb-12 22:57:51

Come on JJ lighten up smile

Agree about the flowers thing though ...I rarely use it to mean 'thanks' confused
But then I never understood why it was so difficult for tech to make more symbols and why we were running out of space hmm

But then I'm only a GNetter shock

jeni Thu 23-Feb-12 22:55:35

Try 'mash'?

glassortwo Thu 23-Feb-12 22:55:30

Night jingle I have posted something in the wrong thread and I dont know how I have managed it, I think I must have been dreaming when I read the post I was repying to.... but its vanished .... so I think I need to go to bed grin
Yes I think a name change is needed wink

wotsamashedupjingl Thu 23-Feb-12 22:52:34

I might have to change this name tomorrow. I don't think I like it.

wotsamashedupjingl Thu 23-Feb-12 22:50:08

I'm just postng for the sake of it now. I need to go to bed. Night all. x

wotsamashedupjingl Thu 23-Feb-12 22:49:26

Why do they put the word 'thanks' in the brackets for the flowers? No-one uses it for that. hmm Why don't they just put [flowers]? [shrug]

glassortwo Thu 23-Feb-12 21:54:25

granb that should have been thanks thanks I used wrong brackets sorry!

glassortwo Thu 23-Feb-12 21:53:08

sba you dont need to thank me, I have not done anything... all the hard work is down to you !!! You know what weight you feel happiest.

Comfort eating is something most of us suffer from you do it then kick yourself but we cant change the way we are made. I have just had this discussion with my DD.

glassortwo Thu 23-Feb-12 21:40:25

I have just been over there too sba and I would also like to say granb thinking of you and take care of yourself (thanks)

Sbagran Thu 23-Feb-12 21:35:55

Sorry to come back again so quickly but have just read your postings on the exercise thread granb and want to send my heartfelt love. It is great you are so motivated to exercise but take care of yourself as well thanks thanks

Sbagran Thu 23-Feb-12 21:27:27

Thanks for your lovely thought and for 'caring' glass but unfortunately being 5'6" and weighing 168lbs (12 stone) means that my body mass index is 27.5 - in the overweight bracket.
I know you can't run your life on what 'they' say you should weigh etc but to be honest when I was nearing my target of 10 and a half stone last year I really did feel so much better and so much fitter and happier. I have no one to blame but myself for the weight going back on as there was so much comfort eating but that's life!
I am not getting uptight or anything about the slow progress as although I am 'overweight' on the chart I am not seriously overweight and my health is not at risk, but obviously it would not be good for my health to get any heavier really.
I have had a lot of stress in my life which hopefully will lessen as I get older and things are getting better. I am very happy in my work now that I have escaped from the NHS and being a Grandma is a great gift as well! Life isn't perfect as it isn't perfect for anybody but it could be a lot worse!
Thank you glass and all the lovely people on this thread who give us all such lovely encouragement and support!

yoga grin grin jumped up and down.... bet you enjoyed it.

Well I have put 1 lb on which I am quite happy with after being away all week.

yogagran Thu 23-Feb-12 20:21:50

I did a strenous 4.5 mile walk on the South downs today, lots of steep climbs as well which made my legs and lungs work, but on the way back I passed a bakers. Remembering that we needed a loaf I stopped to buy one and while the loaf was being sliced a chocolate brownie was jumping up and down shouting "buy me, buy me". Oh dear I'm so weak willed sometimes sad

glassortwo Thu 23-Feb-12 19:59:43

sba a thought that has gone through my mind...... could you be at the weight your body is happy with.

Sbagran Thu 23-Feb-12 19:10:06

Good luck Granb I am completely with you where the elusive '11 something' is concerned - I have been between 12stone and 12stone 1lb now for several weeks. My gym instructor says my body is taking its time to readjust to being back exercising after a few months off?
Trying a new tack this week - Paul McKenna and salads in the hope that I can jolt my body into reacting to my gymswim and walking efforts!
My silly scales register in pounds so I am just hoping to get 167 point something instead of 168 which is the 'nice round figure' you spoke of! grin Doesn't 167 or 168 sound a lot!

glassortwo Thu 23-Feb-12 19:05:28

grannylin well done 1lb down. smile

Have a fantastic time and dont give your weight a second thought while your
away, plenty of time when you get home. Enjoy your break and if you can let us know what your up to.

Grannylin Thu 23-Feb-12 16:28:48

Lost another 1lb this week so feeling really good before I set off for a month. Saw the doc last week about swollen ankles/feet as I was worried about the long flight (and had a DVT in my 20s)Had lots of blood tests etc. but nothing wrong so he gave me tabs for water retention. Great!! less swelling and lost some weight! Thanks for being there glass, back in a month, hopefully even lighter smile

Granb Thu 23-Feb-12 10:23:14

Thanks for the encouraging welcome.

I decided to see where the line actually fell on the scales. Unfortunately, had been far too optimistic with anticipated weight gain. It is much more, oh so much more. Still, looking on the bright side, 12 stone is such a nice round (pardon the pun) number. Here's to 11 something next week

Well we all enjoyed it and will try it again, very quick and easy.
