Hmmmm - the mirror is telling me I must work harder.

Hope you've all been more successful than me!

Nanadogsbody Mon 08-Oct-12 08:52:09

1.5lb down this week. I've not broken through a stone barrier so that's a big boost. Nine stone something/anything I've got you on my sights wink

Nanadogsbody Mon 08-Oct-12 08:52:47

'Now broken through a..'

glassortwo Mon 08-Oct-12 10:25:48

Anyone come across a free app called 'MyFitnessPal' ? Don't be put off by the fitness bit, it's got a great database for food built into it.

glassortwo Mon 08-Oct-12 11:00:33

nanad a few on here use it and sing its praises, I started but I find SW suits me better.

Nanadogsbody Mon 08-Oct-12 12:49:16

I love playing with apps like this! But I'll only use it as a tool. I've found something that works for me and I'll stick to that, in the same way that SW works for you glass.
Yes, glass a huge boost ...makes you more determined not to cross that line ever again.
PS where is everyone else ????

Movedalot Mon 08-Oct-12 13:11:38

Haven't weighed, sorry! Too much going on with visitors etc and forgot. Off on hols in the [sun] tomorrow but there may welll be scales in the room so will weigh next week instead and let you know. Will come on GN specially for that only as holiday means just that - holiday from everything!

Good luck everyone else!

yogagran Mon 08-Oct-12 13:37:03

I've lost almost 2 pounds - and that's after a few days in Europe with a girlfriend, continental breakfasts, croissants etc! So I'm really chuffed. I've had to get some new knickers too as mine were beginning to feel as though they were too loose which could have been a bit disasterous

glassortwo Mon 08-Oct-12 13:49:55

move enjoy your holiday and dont worry about us lot [grin

yoga well done can I say 2lb? Nothing worse than droopy drawers wink

This week total 3.5lbs

Challenge total 14.5lb wowwwwwwww

Sbagran Mon 08-Oct-12 16:08:35

sad sad sad sad sad sad What can I say girls and boys but sorry!
I have PUT ON 0.4 of a pound. I know it is only ounces but I don't like gains!
I am gutted as I was really good last week checking everything out with My fitness pal etc. but I believe the problem was three-fold.
First of all it was such a foul week weather-wise that, as the car was available, I succumbed to temptation and either drove or had a lift to work instead of walking it. Being sensible there is no point is being a martyr, walking to work and getting drowned, especially as I had a horrible cold and was feeling rough anyway.
Secondly, in spite of the nasty cold I didn't comfort eat I promise! What has occurred to me is that I was drinking hot pure lemon juice with a teaspoon of honey in it which I counted on MFP but I didn't think to record the throat lozenges and mega-strong eucalyptus lozenges which no doubt were loaded with sugar?
Thirdly, I had two training days last week each with a buffet lunch provided - again I avoided the biscuits at coffee/tea breaks but how can you estimate a buffet lunch? I found that MFP had a basic buffet lunch on their database that they estimated at 500 cals but perhaps I had more - who knows?
Anyway girls and boys, hopefully I am back on track this week and hope to keep slightly below the recommended intake and kick start it. I will have to try and ignore the warnings that I am not eating enough for a few days!
Good luck to everyone else - and I am sorry to have knocked the running total down a bit sad and I promise I will do better!

Movedalot Mon 08-Oct-12 18:05:30

sba stop beating yourself up! We all know what it is like when you have a cold and buffet lunches are just too hard to estimate as you snack on them and have no idea of how much you have eaten or what is in lots of them. No naughty step for you this week. flowers

Wheniwasyourage Mon 08-Oct-12 18:17:57

No, I can't help either - sorry! Stuck at 64.9kg for 2 weeks now but have started swimming again, which is more fun than running even if it hasn't worked yet.

glassortwo Mon 08-Oct-12 21:12:22

sba its all the cold remedies you have had, dont worry about it once you are back on your feet you can then think about being careful, get well first flowers

glassortwo Mon 08-Oct-12 21:14:13

whenIwas its good to maintain, swimming wins any day over running in the rain grin

Sbagran Mon 08-Oct-12 22:13:19

Thanks Movedalot and Glass for your encouragement - flowers
the cold appears to be on its way out and I do believe it was a combination of circumstances so hopefully I will do better this week.
Thanks also to when for allowing me not to be the only one! Commiserations to you when - it's so frustrating isn't it! We will overcome grin
flowers to you all - and have a great holiday Moved!!!

Nanadogsbody Mon 08-Oct-12 22:39:35

That's hardly any weight gain *sbagran' and you can't do much if your feeling bad. There's always next week or the week after sunshine

Nanadogsbody Mon 08-Oct-12 22:43:38

Just read back through the thread, well done yoga smile.
Have I missed anyone else? Yes wheni not put anything on smile smile

Notsogrand Tue 09-Oct-12 09:09:59

Well done to the losers and the not gainers!
I'm loving this running total thing, it's great fun. Glass, at what point can we say we've lost the equivalent of a whole Gransnetter? grin
I'm sorry that I can't add to the total loss as I've stayed the same, but to be honest, I haven't exactly been making much of an effort this past week.
Time to dig deep and focus!!!
I'm aiming to have lost at least a pound towards next weeks running total.
Good luck everyone!

glassortwo Tue 09-Oct-12 19:57:20

notso it depends on the weight of the Gran grin
