PS I didn't jump on scales at midnight, it was first thing this morning.

Jodi Fri 09-Nov-12 10:10:17

Am I too late? Got back at midnight and jumped on the scales to see how much I'd put on. Amazingly I've LOST half a pound. Not sure how but...smile

I will glass, just a little blip. You know...life, the universe and everything stuff. Hey!!! Just thought of a great slogan...

TIME TO STOP WALLOWING AND STOP SWALLOWING!

Right. That's my plan.

glassortwo Wed 07-Nov-12 22:09:05

notso grin I know you can do it....not the naked grin the weight!

Notsogrand Wed 07-Nov-12 22:04:54

glass grin
If I went around naked they'd have to issue smelling salts to the local population and call out the SAS to quell the protest riots.

glassortwo Wed 07-Nov-12 21:48:51

Come on you two we cant be doing with one of you naked and the other flouncing off grin grin get a plan and you can do it wink

Notsogrand Wed 07-Nov-12 21:42:49

You'll do it glass smile

jeni, get back here and take a deep breath. I know how you feel. I've gained a few pounds and my clothes are a bit snug. Gave all my fat clothes to the charity shop or sold them on Ebay, so things could get tricky. Please don't be sad

jeni Wed 07-Nov-12 21:30:27

glass yes! I'm not posting again on GN on ANY thread until I've lost half a stone!
Might see you all sometime!sad

glassortwo Wed 07-Nov-12 21:02:13

Notsogrand Wed 07-Nov-12 20:54:56

glassortwo Tue 06-Nov-12 20:21:25

glassortwo Tue 06-Nov-12 19:54:10

I am jumping up and down as I have lost another 1 .5lbs this week but slightly disappointed that if it had been 2lb I would have lost 1 st in the 6 weeks we have been doing the challenge....... never mind it will be down 1 stone and something next week grin

Now I will go and read how everyone is doing wink

Jodi Tue 06-Nov-12 19:30:46

I'm away this week so can't weigh in.

Bez Tue 06-Nov-12 18:49:44

I have stayed the same too this week but been fighting a cold bug also - I was surprised I had lost nothing as my appetite has been very small- must be all the throat sweets I have been sucking!grin

Movedalot Tue 06-Nov-12 17:40:07

Sorry I can't add to the weight loss but I haven't put any on either! I'm really happy about that as I think I deserve to have put some on. I've done a lot of swimming but I'm not very good at it so doubt it has used many calories! I think the sun helps. I must get back to the gym when we get home and see if I can lose some to up the records for us all.

How I empathise with you, Phoenix. I took voluntary redundancy leading to retirement last year, and like you, the pounds just seem to have piled on. This could just be due to availability of snacks, coffee with DH, etc., whereas when at my office desk I could only eat what I had brought with me that day, and usually kept this fairly healthy!
Glad to report that this week I have lost 2 pounds, I am now back on the 2:5 regime, which seems to keep me on track more than any other "diet" I have followed. Just 2lbs to go and I shall have lost a stone, and that will be marvellous. Even my watch strap seems loose!
(The 2:5 eating method was that mentioned on Horizon in August, and is covered by another thread, by the way.)
Good luck for next week, everyone.

Anne58 Tue 06-Nov-12 16:44:00

I have put on a stone since the redundancy back in March! I'm not overweight, but I can really feel that stone in my clothes. Had to buy bigger trousers for the last interview blush

Problem, is, I find it really hard to diet at this time of year, it's as if I am reverting to a hunter gatherer mentality and craving high calorie foods to lay down a store of fat ready for hibernation. sad

In the past the Slimming World sort of programme has worked well for me, and Mr P would cook great meals from their recipe books. He's not here during the week, so I'm fending for myself, and salad just has no appeal.

celebgran Tue 06-Nov-12 16:11:16

notsogrand I managed to put on 3lb in my Norfolk full board break ouch!!

not feeling well either so reckon have to make more effort for next week weigh in!!

Marelli Tue 06-Nov-12 15:45:52

It would be the diazepam, for sure, Notso! Not the food at all grin Worth it though, eh! wink

Notsogrand Tue 06-Nov-12 09:13:12

Good morning everyone. After a bitterly cold night, at least the sun is now shining.
Well, it's been tricky hmm I avoided posting a weight result last week for very good reasons blush Three days away in Edinburgh and I put on 3lbs! During that whole time we had some lovely meals but only one pudding, 7 chips and half a sweet pastry. Apart from that, I just ate 'normal person' meals, but still managed the 3lbs gain. Maybe it was the diazepam I took for the flights? confused
But hey ho, back on the long and winding road to smaller trousers grin
I've managed to shift 2 of the extra pounds but am still 1lb up for this week's weigh in. I'm sorry to be adding to the total rather than taking away.
Good luck everyone!

Far too many emoticons in this post!
