Well thats it done and dusted, I hope you have all survived the holidays.
I had a weigh in on the 27th December and I had gained 2.5lbs, my next weigh in was Thursday 3rd January and I had lost 2lb so I am still up but just 1/2lb but that's fine it will soon be off.
I picked this up at my weigh in the other day and thought you might like it.
Weight Loss is a journey…..
Weight loss is a journey – tackle it in stages
Some may get there very quick, whilst others may take ages.
Weight loss is a journey, some take the stopping train,
And they get off at the station, and then get back on again.
While other lucky people seem to travel by express,
With no apparent effort, each week they weigh in less.
For some of us the journey, too often seems uphill.
We never seem to get that far, struggle though we will.
Weight loss is a journey –anyone can go
But as you travel on your way there’s something you should know.
Losing weight’s a journey that’s different for everyone,
Some are happy to stroll along while the others need to run.
If you want to complete this journey, then forget about the rest.
Each of you must travel the way that suits you best.
As long as you believe it, you WILL get there some day,
And so what does it matter if you've gone the pretty way?
Weight loss is a journey, that certainly is true.
And each of you must travel in the way that best suits YOU.
You’ll make much better progress if you go at your own pace
‘Cos weight loss is a journey- and never a race.

WEIGH IN FOR THIS WEEK so thrilled lost 3 half pounds, slim world does work glassortwo!!!! got keep this up.
Huge (((hugs)))Sew - bless you, you have been through such a lot. Stay with us as you are part of us!
As Moved said you do need to eat but that is easy for us to say and difficult for you to do, so her suggestions are good. We will all support you and wish you and DH good health and happiness for 2013.
Jodi don't you go either - we need successful people to encourage us! How did you manage NOT to put any weight back on you lucky person you!

I have been on a real nibble-mission this week with absolutely no willpower. It is cold and wet out which is a real downer where going for a walk is concerned, there are still lots of Christmas and New Year naughty bits about which keep leaping out and forcing themselves into my mouth especially as DH is still in a bit of a sulk - so all in all it's not particularly good!
Perhaps the gluttony fairy will move out soon???
Sew it is understandable that you should lose weight but you do need to eat enough to stay healthy. I think you should take Nanado's advice. Have you looked up what your BMI should be? I always think that is the best guide to whether we are over or under weight.
If you just can't face preparing food or if the actual chewing is a problem why not have a few smoothies or milk shakes? Ice cream is another good idea, I love it snuggled up on the sofa in the evening, eating with a teaspoon it is such a luxury. That's why I don't have it in the house

I am happy
and I'll stay but try not to be too smug. Tell me if I am please!
jodi there is no need for you to leave if you want to stay, it may just hold off the munchies and of course you can come and support us all
you sound so happy!!!
sew sorry to hear you're under stress, hope things go better soon.
glass I don't know if I should stay or go either? I lost my extra weight before Christmas and haven't put it back on, in fact I've lost another 3lb since last logging in, but this is simply due to being very busy and not having time or inclination to munch. And walking in the hills
sew you have had a very stressful time and it had to show somewhere and at least losing your appetite has some benefits
stay with us and if nothing else it may just keep you on the straight and narrow, and we will help if we can.
sew why not stay? If the loss of appetite is due to stress and worry then look on it as that 'silver lining' to your dark cloud.
There are just two questions you might want to consider. Are you now underweight? Or is there another reason why you might be losing weight, a medical one?
If the answer is 'no' then enjoy the new slimmer you
I'm in the ironic situation of having struggled all last year to lose my ever increasing girth and have now lost so much weight(over a stone) in the last few weeks. DH has been very unwell,in hospital etc that I have lost my appetite entirely. Wish I knew where it has gone. So I don't know if I can stay with this thread to encourage me to eat sensibly? I don't want to end up piling the weight back on but I don't want to fade away.Glass and Grannylin thank you for making me giggle visualising you struggling with body control underwear.

Just go with plenty of layers and you can strip if your hot
It's the one I'm not sure about? I like warmth.
jeni June gives you time to take it gently, that's a lovely itinerary I like the sound of the Iceland cruise.
whoa hey Jeni you are a cruiser!!
We doing Iceland, Faroes, and Norway inJuly do hope to be shadow of myelf by then!!
week AI IN Corfu as fell in love with hotel in June, week in Easbournes with friends, and 2 weekends away so hmmmm got be very strict this month and get the weight loss under way.
My brother set off on Q Victoria today to New York, first cruise he has done, hope he enjoys, he hope to trace our grandparents a bit as our father was born in Manhatten.
They spend 2 days in N Y before flying back
glass next cruise Iceland in June on Victoria. Then September Black Sea on Victoria then back to Elizabeth for Xmas and new yeat.
5/2...perish the thought, I'll start with 6/1 if that's not too wussish.
Not looking forward to today but no pain no gain (or should that be lose loose loss)
Thanks nanado there are a few who do the 5/2 with some good results.
grannylin so you have tried on a straight jacket
how people wear that range of underwear I will never know.... I have once and only once tried a pair of those hold in tights, they were fine when I got ready, but a glassortwo later and a very small toilet cubicle and I was done for, got out of the cubicle and you would think I had run a double marathon
Having something to work towards does help you should have that off no problem.
glass how thoughtful if you to go through every post and give us some individual feedback
I'm going to try fasting one day a week for a month or so to see if that works. Tomorrow is my first day.
I'm joining as well.I need to lose half a stone for a wedding in February.I went to M &S yesterday and tried to try on a body control petticoat thing. It got stuck round my chest and I nearly exploded trying to pull it off. I was a second away from shouting. Help!Help! Get me out of this!
Well done again glass
Welcome to the newbies and returners. For those not already in the know www.myfitnesspal.com is a good way of evaluating what you eat and a lot of us are using it and finding it very helpful. It tells you not only how many calories you are eating/planning to eat but also how much fat, protien, carbs and cholestrol. It has taught DH to understand what he is eating and now no longer says 'but I don't eat very much'. Now he understand it is not so much about quantity as about content. Why not give it a try and see how you get on?
Stayed up to watch Borgen last night and hit the food again. Long lie in today [my day off] so will begin again. I have never ever been so out of control with my eating. But that's going to stop starting from now
.
notso good to have something to work towards.
river well done 2lb off at this time of the year is fantastic.
bez yes water is the secret in weight loss, drink plenty and the weight does come off, you need it to keep things moving along.
mollie try to change to a wholemeal small loaf, still get the satisfaction of the bread if bread is your thing but needs to be wholemeal and 2 slices from 400g loaf, and try not to have cereal and bread in the same day, try to cut back on the times you are having cheese.
phoenix thats not bad at all for Christmas.
nonu 3lbs is a good loss after Christmas.
grace you could have that off for Easter.
jeni you were on a roll before your holidays, how long till the next cruise?
jane good start keep it up.
crimson probably a combination of the three, as the days get longer you might feel more like having a stroll, nothing worse than the dark afternoons.
marelli step away from that Christmas cake.
sba grumpy men are the cause of a lot of damage, but you can do it.
whenIwas yes the exercise will move it on and not to many chocs.
nanado you will get your 7lb shifted easy by the summer.
grannyK put it behind you, we all have a blip now and again.
move just a case of getting your head in the right place again and you will be fine.
baubles & mrs hat I have posted how it works below, but really its an open thread to do as you please.
