No good for me have t eat small reg meals if I don't get dreadful I b s and indigestion! My lovely gp suggested the 5 2 plan him and his wife were doing it he meant it kindly as is hard to watch diet all time.

glassortwo Sat 13-Apr-13 20:52:14

I dont think the 5:2 would be any good for me, I have to eat to lose weight. When I had problems with my gall bladder the Consultant restricted my diet to only vegetables no fat, no meat, only veg for 12 months and I stuck to it worried that I would suffer with the terrible pain.

I went back and was weighed and I had not lost 1 oz and the Consultant said that was because I went into starvation mode and I would not lose anything its the way my body works. When I worked I would have breakfast then not eat until 9pm and I gained weight, but if I eat at regular intervals it seems to kick my metabolism in.

I've had homemade tomato soup. Oh! And half a small baguette!

annodomini Sat 13-Apr-13 19:52:01

I'm having a fourth fast day today - wanted to give myself a flying start! i have just demolished a pan of spiced butternut squash soup. It makes me feel full.

glassortwo Sat 13-Apr-13 19:42:44

Seems to be working, keep with it. Next Saturday wont be a fast day will it grin

Marelli Sat 13-Apr-13 19:37:41

I've just eaten a rather large Lamb Jeera Masala......with naan! And a poppadum! Next fast day is Tuesday. I'll give it a month and see how it goes!

glassortwo Sat 13-Apr-13 19:32:21

marelli brilliant, its done the trick moved those lbs. smile

This week 2lb .8

Marelli Sat 13-Apr-13 19:07:12

Grannylin, the thing is, I keep weighing myself every day, and I know that perhaps I shouldn't! So - if I weigh myself on an ordinary day I'm more or less what I was when I started, then after a fasting day, I'm the lower weight. Did you stay with the 5:2 Diet?

Grannylin Sat 13-Apr-13 16:44:22

Whaaaaat? That's amazing Marelli I didn't lose that in a month when I did it ...and I was strict envy

Marelli Sat 13-Apr-13 16:00:34

glass, I've been on the 5:2 diet for just over a week (thought I had to stick to the 5:2 thread to show progress confused)!
Anyhow, I do seem to have lost about 2lb 12oz in that time (weighing after fasting day). I've had 3 fast days now, and have to say that it is getting easier. I'm trying so hard not to get greedy on ordinary days....blush.

Thanks Tegan, don't know how long I can resist! If I don't succumb now, will I at the NEC tonight? Not at my strongest today................

Tegan Sat 13-Apr-13 13:43:25

The slippery slope....don't go to the corner shop, Moved...!!

Movedalot Sat 13-Apr-13 13:39:44

Good luck Tegan I am in danger of following you. Am at Ds's house and they have gone to the football. having a bad day for various reasons and so tempted to go to the corner shop and buy something comforting. Stop me someone!

Tegan Sat 13-Apr-13 10:22:10

I even hit the ice cream last night [haven't done that for a long time]. Spiralling out of control, eating wise I'm afraid. Start again today. sad

glassortwo Fri 12-Apr-13 21:41:57

mrshat thank you you have dragged us out of our deficit, well done 1 1/5 lbs. Have a good weekend.

This week . 25lb

mrshat Fri 12-Apr-13 21:35:30

Sorry I'm so late - a manic week. I'm not sure I trust my scales as I have lost 1.5lbs this week and back to 13 stone! I am delighted, but not sure it is correct. However, I will monitor carefully and hopefully weight will continue to disappear! grin

annodomini Fri 12-Apr-13 18:05:25

It would make health club gyms more fun if they could have versions of those on each static bike - what an incentive to pedal faster!

Galen Fri 12-Apr-13 17:06:14

I'd love them here!

glassortwo Fri 12-Apr-13 16:19:35

i did wonder if they could be set up in the Bigg Market here but then could see in my mind eyes the revellers falling off and they would never get down to the undies grin

annodomini Fri 12-Apr-13 16:17:47

Thought you'd appreciate that, glass. Would be interesting to have those bikes in British cities!

glassortwo Fri 12-Apr-13 16:02:39

That last total is incorrect here is the new but we are still in a minus..... what are we all going to do about that grin
