Best way to burn calories?

Hoopla Hoop works well, my friends and I who are very young pensioners have bought Sports hoopla hoops and although we couldn't keep them up at first with practice we are all starting to get our waists back. We have even got together in the park when the weather is nice and probably look completely nuts but we laugh and enjoy it.

Read today in the daily mail (so it must be true) that bouncing on a large trampoline burns more calories than jogging.

to be exhausted during exercise (to the point where you can't continue)

Walking is the most natural exercise. A colleague at work took up running when he was 40 and by the time he was 45 he had shot his hips and knees. You may burn more calories running but is it worth it.

I read this somewhere and it has always stuck in my mind....

bonk is a term used in sports to say when you run out of energy. It's like someone turning your engine off and you need something sweet - fast!

Yes. I am a great believer in digging. Don't think I can get away with digging any more of it up though. DH reckons he won't be able to get the mower round.

I dig the garden. Digging is wonderful for toning up tummy muscles.

Not sure I still have any tummy muscles and it's tough on the knees but I still reckon it does me good

I read that walking is the best exercise - myfitnesspal.com has an app that gives you a daily programme to get you to 10,000 steps a day. I think everyoneactive.com has an app for starting to run called 'Couch to 5K' I think - might try that one myself although I do play a lot of golf and walk so not much time for anything else.

I use a rebounder (mini-trampoline) for exercise and absolutely love it.

I don't jump on it, far too energetic but it's fantastic for jogging without the risk of impact injuries. I watch the telly whilst I'm on it. Usually 30-40 minutes in the morning before work.

I've lost about a stone in the last 8 weeks. I'm such a couch potato and haven't really excercised until buying this

They're only about £30 from Decathlon . Can't recommend highly enough

½ hour ride before breakfast 3 or 4 times a week. Have a coffee before you go. Arrive for breakfast on the edge of bonk.

It ain't fancy, Hollywood dieticians can't make a fortune pushing it, but it plain and simple works.

Eat less

Trevor have you thought of aqua aerobics you don't have to be able to swim it is held in a depth of water you are comfortable with,maybe your local sports centre has it on one of their fitness programmes,worth a try.

Yes, there are often adult swimming classes at local pools. Try it, it's so relaxing.

Swimming and Pilates and, my teacher says "eat less"! And for me that's the hardest bit.

Why not set yourself a challenge Trevor47 and learn to swim. You can bet your life there's lots of other people who can't swim and but would like to learn
