I have just eaten a bit of chocolate out of DH's bag. Just the other bit to go, and then I will start again properly. smile

Why don't men just eat the flippin' stuff?!

I didn't put weight on over Christmas at first but it started to creep up when I started to 'use up' all the Christmas food that hadn't been eaten. I was half a stone up the other day but a couple of days of eating less has reduced that. I can't seem to get back into exercise mode yet, though, and the I'm still resting the dogs poorly leg so no dog walking either.

I don't go near the scales during January. Hopefully by the end of the month 5:2 plus a few good walks will have cleared whatever I have put on. The diet was suspended over Christmas and New Year.

I was wondering where "your" thread on weight loss had gone, glass! I haven't put any weight on over Christmas but a year of relative mobility means it has crept on a bit. Once I am over the final op I shall join you all! Meanwhile I shall watch from the sidelines.

I have felt so unwell since before Christmas with a chest /sinus infection - the sense of taste and smell have disappeared, so I didn't want to eat much or drink (that's a first for me!). For the first time ever, I have lost weight over Christmas/NY. Not an ideal way to lose it but it has put me in the right frame of mind. The family have gone and I am gradually, in between sitting down and gasping for breath, chucking out all the leftovers. First to go were the half finished boxes of chocolates........ and I have put loads of stuff in the freezer out of temptations's way and am now back to basics. [halo emoticon]

I am not sure if you want tips GrannyK?

The best one that worked for me, was I read somewhere, that if you do not have foods that are likely to tempt you in the house anywhere, you cannot eat them.

I can't weigh myself. The scales need new batteries. I must need to lose weight though! The amount of chocolates I ate over Christmas was colossal. I have just been discussing with DH when we should start our 5:2 diet again, and we decided upon next Tuesday. I was doing very well and had lost 5 pounds in 6weeks. Well, hey ho and on we go.

For the first year ever, I havent put any on.
I had a hard effort over 3 months last year at losing 1/2 a stone. And have no intention of putting it back on again. So am now vigilant all year round.
I find the effort of losing weight a battle, so once I succeed, I hold on fast to my new weight.

Believe me I am not smug.
I seem to have to go through this once every ten years.

Hiding from Glass.

Three and three quarter pounds here. And it's so difficult to get back into dieting mode!

GrannyK Tue 06-Jan-15 09:51:42

I cannot be the only person who put on 4 lbs over Christmas and needs some serious support in losing it again as soon as possible !!!!
