I cannot be the only person who put on 4 lbs over Christmas and needs some serious support in losing it again as soon as possible !!!!

hildajenniJ Fri 20-Mar-15 18:35:49

Oops! The diet didn't get going when I expected it to. I'm going to wait now until after DH's doctor's appointment on Monday. He has been having his blood pressure monitored for eight days, morning and evening as it is quite high. We may have to drastically change the way we eat. I don't mind at all. I think we eat far too much meat, so if the GP says he has to cut red meat out of his diet I won't really mind.

I started 5:2 last week and so far, so good but have currently got a rotten cold manflu and haven't felt like eating much.

I'm not sure how often I want to weigh myself though, as it's very discouraging when the scales don't move!

Marelli Fri 20-Mar-15 14:13:51

Have just contacted glass, and she's been really busy with stuff, so hasn't had any chance to be on GN much. She's asked if we can carry on with the thread ourselves in the meantime.
I'll set it up on Sunday night because I'll not have time on Monday morning as I'm heading up to Aberdeen with Elegran, thatbags and Elizabeth1 to meet with Katek!
So get the scales dusted off, everyone....grin - oh dear......I think I've filled out a bit again...sadblush

Same here please!

Ana Thu 19-Mar-15 22:45:34

Thanks, Marelli, please give glass our love.

I'm not a weigh-in participant as I actually have trouble keeping mine up, but had noticed the threads had disappeared and that glass hadn't been posting recently.

Marelli Thu 19-Mar-15 22:40:08

glass has been busy with family stuff over the last few weeks. We could keep the diet thread going by ourselves for just now, perhaps?

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 19-Mar-15 18:50:02

I've been wondering where Glass is.

Ana Thu 19-Mar-15 18:37:08

What's happened to the Weekly Weigh-In? Not seen it around for ages, is glass OK?

zinga06 Thu 19-Mar-15 18:31:07

I am very conscious about my diet. Fresh vegetables and fruit uses leads to healthy and prosperous life.

Thank you MrsPickle I have just ate a sausage roll. sad

Must get my head in right place to start again. smile

Mrs Pickles, many many congratulations. I put on two stone after the menopause. I saw it going on and tried to lose it as it went on but without success. Up until then my experience had been that any weight gain could be got rid of with calorie restriction and more exercise.

Over the ensuing 10 years, I tried a variety of diets, but without success. Last year I tried the standard Fast diet with very little success with that either but then came across the Fast Beach Diet, which involved 2 fast days, but cutting back, but not excessively, on non-fast diets. In four months I lost the 2 stone and I have kept it off for four months so far without a problem.

Post-Christmas weight gain now down to 3lbs and within the band my weight normally varies around on a day to day basis.

MrsPickle Thu 08-Jan-15 12:03:59

Rubylady, I have lost 5 stone, 4 of them by 5:2. Feel soooo much better for it, too. Now low carb, higher fat for me and have maintained for a year. My BMI is around 22.
Good luck and keep focussed.

J52 Wed 07-Jan-15 09:14:57

Haven't weighed myself, but I can tell!!
Back on 5:2 as of today. x

rubylady Wed 07-Jan-15 01:55:44

I put 2 lbs on and went on 5:2 diet from the 2nd and have lost it again. I don't overbuy because there is only the two of us so most of it had gone but found a tube of Pringles and have munched on them a bit tonight. blush

I will try harder tomorrow and be good. Only about 5 stone to lose! So no more buying rubbish.

Nanabelle Wed 07-Jan-15 00:38:57

So glad I didn't make a Christmas cake, as I would definitely be eating most of it! Naturally I ate most of the chocs but not much alcohol for me as had a bad cold. Put on a good few pounds, so now back on carb free for 17 days (if I can manage it) and healthy eating. Its up, down, up down, isn't it! Loving the mandarines/clems/satsumas that are in the shops now.
Lets hope for some nice weather so we can get out walking.

Best dieting advice I ever read....
Eat less, move more.

MrsPickle Tue 06-Jan-15 18:36:59

I put 3lbs on and have lost 2 of them.
Back to MFP, dedication and a very (small) wardrobe.

You can do it, peeps.

granjura Tue 06-Jan-15 17:52:33

Perhaps one reason why so many people dread Christmas (same here, nearly 2 kg on).

NfkDumpling Tue 06-Jan-15 17:41:08

As usual I managed to lose 4lb before Christmas, put nothing on over Christmas and put 4.5lb over New Year eating up left overs.

vegasmags Tue 06-Jan-15 17:35:35

Returning to slimming World tomorrow morning for the dreaded weigh in. I can tell by my tight jeans that the news will not be good ...

FlicketyB Tue 06-Jan-15 17:20:34

DH and I both lost 2 stone on the 5;2 diet last year and both put on nearly half a stone over Christmas. Returning to normal eating immediately brought our weight down by 2 lbs. We started the 5;2 again on Sunday and intend to be back to the new normal by the end of the month.

Teetime Tue 06-Jan-15 14:52:55

I started back at SW the first week in December and lost 10 pounds in time for Christmas , put 3 and half (how do you type halves?) over Christmas, lost three pounds this week and am now back on the SW healthy eating plan 100%. Happy to share any information re this if it would help.

sherish Tue 06-Jan-15 13:51:22

I had to find out how much I'd put on when I had a hospital appointment today and my weight is recorded. Three kg's for me which I think in real money is around 7lbs. Oh well, it was good while it lasted!

Anya Tue 06-Jan-15 13:43:34

Feeling smug as I've lost all my Christmas weight and some more.

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 06-Jan-15 13:31:26

Hope babba's better soon Glass.,
