Remember ha thread where we stated what Xmas jobs we intend to do that day, and then came on later and said whether we had done them or not? Well.

How about a thread where we say what exercise we intend to do that day? And then come on say whether we did it? Or not?

You wouldn't have to necessarily do anything huge. No five thousand miles or anything like that. Half hour walking, twenty minutes dancing to Ken Bruce, riding your bike into town if you've got one, (icyalittle has) would be fine. In fact, we would actually have a ban on anything superhuman. smile

Anyone up for it?

What on earth? A light sabre without the killing power?

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 13-Jan-16 22:03:47

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 13-Jan-16 21:57:33

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 13-Jan-16 21:52:33

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 13-Jan-16 21:51:02

I am so tempted to get one of those Bodyblades!

cornergran Wed 13-Jan-16 21:40:04

5 mins with bodyblade yesterday. Today walked around a shopping centre - twice - and worked up a head of steam with a bank for messing up my account.

I've just bought and set up a DVD player for my exercise DVDs, just checking it works on a Rosemary Conley DVD....it does. So I intend to do a session later......

icy envy. Have you got a nice log fire in your cabin? Is there a pattiserie nearby?

Oh! and enjoy your bit is skiing.

I have been on x bike with Pet Shop Boys. Stayed on for 40 minutes as was enjoying the music!

Icyalittle Wed 13-Jan-16 10:54:52

Icyalittle Wed 13-Jan-16 10:54:20

We had a foot of fluffy white proper snow overnight. I am going to ski for a bit and try not to fall on my arm. DH already bouleversé while getting car out [shick]

Active Monday! Chopped and sawed up the Christmas tree for the compost bin. Zumba class in evening. Why does no one else drip with sweat and have wet hair sticking to their head? Lovely walk home in the cold though. Clear sky and stars.

cornergran Mon 11-Jan-16 22:19:08

No bodyblade today - forgot. Oops...

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 11-Jan-16 10:45:50

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 11-Jan-16 10:45:23

Wow Grandma(I've forgotten what the numbers are, sorry) that sounds excellent!

Walk for me today as the sun is actually shining.

Saturday I squeezed in half hour on exercise bike at 7 pm, and had the best night's sleep for a long time! Think evening exercise might be the way forward!

cornergran Sun 10-Jan-16 16:55:03

Watched the bodyblade DVD while enjoying two delicious Belgian chocolates. Not my fault, it's rude not to enjoy Christmas gifts, isn't it? Copied the demonstrations a bit. Have a chronic pain and spine condition so will be careful. Physio says should be ok so I'll believe her. It's something I can do with music in the background or catchup TV. Will see how it goes. Still low on laughter. Will try harder. The chocolates were delicious in case you wondered. smile

Grandma2213 Sun 10-Jan-16 00:23:27

hmm Thought I'd try that one again - failed smiley!

Grandma2213 Sun 10-Jan-16 00:22:25

Jings, if you have been bad do you feel guilty? They say guilt eats away at you so at least you should be slimmer!!!

I have actually jogged today (not on purpose) to keep up with 3 year old DGD on her bike. A good hour of this, fast walking, chasing and football can only have me on track for a place in the Olympics!!! Or Physio! hmm]

Bread is lovely good for you icy.

I will make no comment on this thread at the moment. I have been baaad! shock

Icyalittle Sat 09-Jan-16 10:45:50

Walked 15 minutes in the pouring rain to the bread shop (good). Then ate the bread (bad). At least while it is raining I am not tempted onto the soggy snow. Another day for my arm to improve...

tiredoldwoman Sat 09-Jan-16 06:30:33

Yes, laughing must be the best exercise Grandma2213!

I saw them body blading on QVC - tiny little movements but works the body - quite fancied it . I'd be interested in your blading, cornergran . Keep smiling !

cornergran Sat 09-Jan-16 05:36:31

Would love to join in. Hope laughing counts as exercise. Think of all those muscles it uses and it's something I definitely need to do more of. Have an instrument of torture called a body blade. It's been in a cupboard for months but is supposed to strengthen muscles and re-claim waists. Need both of those. Training course today and a food shop which I hope counts as exercise. Those bags are heavy and mowing people down pushing the trolley must count - please? So Sunday I will watch the instructional DVD again and use the body blade at least 4 times a week. Will walk a bit more too. But not in the rain I just hate that. Will at least smile and try to laugh each day. Have turned into a right old grump. blush Hope all this counts.

tiredoldwoman, no never been there but going to Fuerteventura in August so also need to get fitter (and thinner). I have failed today except for taking DGD (aged 3) for a walk round the block with her pram. A gentle stroll really except for running down the hill after her pram to catch it (several times) which she found extremely funny. Does laughing count as exercise??

tiredoldwoman Fri 08-Jan-16 05:50:09

Yes, Grandma2213 that sounds like an intensive work out. I've slept in this morning , no time to do my bike etc. Will work extra hard at work today , big steps over the puddles and do my work out tonight ! Promise !
It would be so easy to slide off this new routine but I want to keep at it . Going to Portugal in May and need to be fitter . Albufeira - anyone been ?

Grandma2213 Fri 08-Jan-16 00:39:25

Thought I hadn't exercised today then considered :

- Stretching and bending to pick up everything that would jam the hoover.

- Hoovering for almost an hour until I was in a sweat, to pick up glitter, bits of tinsel, food, chocolate bits, stuck on sellotape and many even more unmentionables!

- Balancing over paving stones to negotiate my flooded lawn and get to the shed.

- Lifting heavy bikes and boxes to put decoration stuff at the back of the shed.

- Up and down ladders to put more stuff in loft, some of which was quite heavy.

Sounds like a work out you would pay for at the gym so yes it was exercise!!!

tiredoldwoman Thu 07-Jan-16 05:30:48

Went back to work on Tuesday so glad that I woke up the Christmas body with some pre- work exercise ! Have just exercised for 20 mins then only 6 mins on the bike - I upped the gears to a stiffer one and 6 mins was enough ! Will do 7 tomorrow !
Feeling much better for it all - yesterday's aches have disappeared .
