Remember ha thread where we stated what Xmas jobs we intend to do that day, and then came on later and said whether we had done them or not? Well.

How about a thread where we say what exercise we intend to do that day? And then come on say whether we did it? Or not?

You wouldn't have to necessarily do anything huge. No five thousand miles or anything like that. Half hour walking, twenty minutes dancing to Ken Bruce, riding your bike into town if you've got one, (icyalittle has) would be fine. In fact, we would actually have a ban on anything superhuman. smile

Anyone up for it?

There's actually a glimmer of sun here at the moment so I will abandon the exercise bike and go for a walk instead. Feeling a bit 'after Xmas down', so I need to walk away from it for a while. Got a take-back to do at Marks and Sparks so can include that. Will get first wash load on before I go.

I expect to return practically on my knees.

' cluttock benches', Stansgran - love it ! I'm going to try benching my cluttocks , too !

Stansgran Sun 03-Jan-16 11:29:01

Ten leg raises to strengthen hip movement just now. And ten cluttock benches. And ten pressing knees down. And I promise to do them twice more minimum.will that do?

Hope you are feeling better soon willow. flowers

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 03-Jan-16 11:20:02

Wow! So early too! V good. smile

Did half hour on bike. To old Roy-o again. Got Barry Manilow on CD player ready for tomorrow.

Riverwalk Sun 03-Jan-16 10:44:38

I did the walk - 55 minutes.

A bit of drizzle here and there and it's cold in the wind but am feeling invigorated. Could do with a two-hour walk really but didn't want to get soaked!

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 03-Jan-16 10:35:07

raining. Not aiming. Though that could be right. Sigh!

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 03-Jan-16 10:33:47

That is amazing tow! Well done.

As your Xmas chocs are still around on 3rd Jan, you have obviously got fantastic will power! envy So keep having a couple a day. Or do the most dreaded thing - bin 'em. sad

I wouldn't mind doing a river walk too rw but it's still aiming and I'm a bit chesty already. So exercise bike, here I come.

Riverwalk Sun 03-Jan-16 08:11:13

I'm planning a one-hour walk at a brisk pace - rain is forecast for most of the day!

tiredoldwoman Sun 03-Jan-16 07:50:11

10 mins on bike ! 15 mins floor exercises . No junk food yesterday but what do we now do with the Christmas choccies - a daily treat , take them into work on Tuesday , watch them all go white ?

Willow500 Sun 03-Jan-16 06:40:40

I'm still ill - I have to go back to work tomorrow so will staggering from sofa to desk count until I'm recovered? I DO intend getting fit AND losing weight sometime this year - just not this week grin

You back yet icy? Was it on the sea? shock Was it chilly?

Icyalittle Sat 02-Jan-16 10:41:53

After it wantonly threw me in the road on Monday, I'm not going on my bike for a while! However: I pledge to go and row for 20 minutes. That's it. I'm off now. Brilliant thread Jings

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 02-Jan-16 10:32:29

Well done! smile

Done my exercise biking now. Did it to Roy Orbison this time. 'Downtown' lends itself very well to pedalling, as does the last few bars of 'It's Over'.

I do find music helps. Apart from anything else it seems to get into your psyche and helps lift your spirits. Wouldn't really recommend it whilst walking though. You need to be aware of your surroundings. But with walking, there are other distractions, so it's win win really. smile

tiredoldwoman Sat 02-Jan-16 10:19:47

Da - dah ! I actually did 5 mins on my bike while the bath was running ! Feeeling good , will add more minutes each day !
Clever thread , Jinglbellsfrocks - it's got me jingling !

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 02-Jan-16 09:28:01

tiredoldwoman half an hour on my bike can really lift my spirits. And it doesn't affect my bad knee as much as walking can do.

Onwards!

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 02-Jan-16 09:26:09

No! Norty norty girl!

grannyqueenie Sat 02-Jan-16 08:47:59

I'm thinking about walking from the bed to the shower....but it's just a thought, does that count jingle ? grin

tiredoldwoman Sat 02-Jan-16 01:50:40

I intend to haul out my exercise bike to get these wonky old knees working ! 2 minutes to start with , increasing by a minute each day , then once stronger , I'll find my ancient Rosemary Connelly video . I used to love it and managed to do the whole hour before going out to work - funny how we get lazy ? New Year - New Me - feeling happy , happy !

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 01-Jan-16 22:16:07

The exercise DVDs sound very include-able. smile

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 01-Jan-16 22:14:02

Well, yes. That's fine. Sort of.

But I envisaged this thread to be a bit less super-human more for 'little' exercise achievements.

Haven't you got yer own thread for the 5000 steps thing? confused

shysal Fri 01-Jan-16 21:41:08

Tomorrow I shall do my usual 10-15,000 steps. Then I shall come back to say I have done it. O.K.? When the DVDs arrive I shall tell you whether I did the exercises or looked at the six-packs. Is that worded more like you wanted Jingl? grin

etheltbags1 Fri 01-Jan-16 21:20:43

Ive been walking but I did it to encourage my friend who needs to excersise, I hated it, I prefer to excersise my eyes with a good book/kindle book/magazine.

NanKate Fri 01-Jan-16 21:11:31

How have we got it wrong Jing ?

I said we would go for a riverside walk today about 3 miles. We did it but were up to our ankles (well nearly) in mud. My shoes got soaked and
I felt a bit miserable. My DH who is usually the pessimist tried to cheer me up. Couldn't wait to get home in the warm and dry.

So much for a brisk country walk. hmm
