I have easily managed to stick to my healthy eating (HFLC) plan and once again I've amazed myself at how well it works for me - I've lost 8lb in just over two weeks. I think the 16:8 element works for me too. I'm determined to stick to it through the Christmas period as much as possible because it's easier to continue with it than to re-start it if I've fallen off the wagon. I may permit myself one day of 'treats' though.

I do think this is the easiest diet to follow as long as you don't get too hung up about exactly following the 16:8 every day or agonising about exactly what you've eaten. You don't need to! My weight is now what it was 20 years ago and I feel SO much better. A couple of friends have done it as well and have lost loads of weight. It's hard to have faith in it when you have tried loads of other diets but it really does work, especially if you do some exercise as well.

I'm a bit down about this. Over three weeks now and I haven't noticed any difference. I stupidly didn't weigh myself at the start but I can't see or feel any difference. I'm very good, more often than not I don't eat till 1.30 or 2 pm. Where can I be going wrong?

I thought I’d give this a try and I’m definitely eating less...which is the whole point surely.

I have breakfast some time about 11ish. Then a lunch about 2.00 ish and then tea/supper/dinner about 6.00ish and that’s it. But the important part I think is that I’m not snacking mid afternoon because I’ve eaten lunch mid afternoon instead (and that’s usualky a bowl of soup at this time of year).

So if you are actually eating less then you will lose weight but if you’re still consuming your usual daily allowance of food within those 8 hours then you probably won’t.

It’s quite easy to keep to, isn’t it? Just a touch of will power in the evenings.

I don’t usually bother with the late breakfast, but have brunch around 12.30.
Often soup or salad, yogurt and a cup of mint tea. Then dinner around 6.30. Definitely eating smaller portions that seem to fill me up.
The good thing is, that if you fancy a mince pie around 4 pm, you can have it without any guilt!

I'm definitely not eating as much. Sometimes I have my breakfast at 1-2 pm or a sandwich/soup etc then just tea around 7 pm or so. The only digression has been when I'm going to a class, I've sometimes had a cup of Horlicks instead of tea mid morning to keep me going. Otherwise, I felt quite shaky one week and felt I might 'go'!! Hopefully, soon I will suddenly notice a big hollow where presently my big fat midriff bulge is!

I think a cup of Horlicks might count as food confused - it’s certainly calorific.

I am hanging in there. Spare tyre is shrinking. Am beginning to get back into trousers that haven't seen the light of day for 2 years or more. Have found I don't want to eat so much now. I still don't buy biscuits though so haven't tested out the addictive side of me. A packet of Jaffa cakes would be the ultimate temptation. They're normally gone in 60 secs.

Lupin I thought I still had a spare tyre but have discovered that it's empty! I suddenly realised that I could really bend down to tie shoelaces. The obstruction had gone! I thought I just had a stiff back which prevented me from bending! Empty skin still there though. Not a pretty sight. shock

Filter coffee without milk is about zero calories. Add milk then just a tad more.

Horlicks contains Wheat Flour (46%) (contains Calcium Carbonate, Ferric Pyrophosphate, Niacin and Vitamin B1), Malted BARLEY (26%), Dried Whey (MILK), Sugar, Calcium Carbonate, Dried Skimmed MILK, Palm Oil, Salt, Vitamins (C, Niacin, E, Pantothenic Acid, B6, B2, B1, Folic Acid, A, Biotin, D, B12), Ferric Pyrophosphate, Zinc Oxide.

So about 200 calories??

I so relate to the shoelaces Jane10. Am also finding that my stomach doesn't rest on my legs so much when I sit down. Where all the skin is going to go is a bit daunting. I wish I could do a tuck and superglue the edges together.
Have started drinking Ovaltine in the first seconds of my 8 hour slot. So comforting.

I very often find that I'm just not that hungry when my 8 hours starts. In fact I'm never hungry! I eat out of habit so tend to eat too much and regret it. After Christmas I'm going to really try to stop eating just because I always used to eat something just then.

Drat. Own goal. Thought I wasn't losing any weight then suddenly saw myself in the mirror and I've lost weight on my face! Not where I want it to come off. So my face and my feet are thinner!!

Well I'm still a happy faster! My scales tell me I've lost 4 pounds in the last two weeks, and it does show on my legs, stomach and yes, my face (I was starting to look a bit jowly, so I'm glad about that!). For one reason and another I haven't done as much walking as usual lately, so could perhaps have done even better. smile
