I would still do the walking but only 2 miles a day rather than 4,can you manage to go swimming at all ?.
Also when plating up your meals have you thought of using a smaller plate it worked for me and stopped me from dishing up too much at meal times.

Thanks for all your advice,I think I'll come off the diet for a week or so but be sensible and keep the calories lowish and then back on and see if that helps ,I'd really like to lose more before my appointment if possible .

Don't give up on what you are doing at present. Are you able to swim to keep up the exercise? You've done extremely well in the last few months so it will be natural for your body to start slowing down the weight loss at this point. Even if it is only a lb or two a month it will be of help.

I agree with changing your diet. Exercise won’t make a great difference weight wise unless you are running marathons every day but of course will give other benefits.

I find that it helps to have a break from the diet. Go to an eating plan that maintains your weight, but you do not gain. Give it a month and then go back on your diet again, you should see weight loss again.

The only way to lose weight if you cannot increase exercise is to eat fewer calories than you are eating now, good luck.

Melanieeastanglia I did wonder if that might be true,I've gone from a 14 to a 10 and have been doing pilates and some walking to tone .I think the 4 miles a day walk were a bit much for my back but I did think a few extra calories used might get me back on track .I see the physio again at the beginning of the month and was hoping I'd meet her target .Shes a tough old bird so I'm expecting a trouble !

Maybe try a different weight loss diet?

merlotgran Wed 22-Aug-18 16:31:30

I often gain weight if I exercise every day. You could be putting on muscle weight.

Perhaps two stone will be sufficient for the physio's purposes, after all. Sometimes, when you've reached the correct weight, it can become harder to lose weight. Perhaps ask your Dr or the physio.

Over the past 3 months or so I've been doing the 16-8 eating plan ,only I'm doing 17-7 and I've been calorie counting. Its been great and I've lost 2 stone .This is not about vanity ,its to try to help with my herniated disc. The physio said lose two and a half stone and it should make a difference .She also said not too much exercise!! Well as the last two weeks have seen not an ounce come off I exercised nearly every day last week ,hasn't made a bit of difference except it has made my back pain really bad.
So ,ladies, how do I kickstart weightloss again without overdoing the exercise? The alternative I was offered by the physio is surgery and I'd rather not have that .
