I have wanted to buy a dress of a long time. Now finally after losing 7st 10lbs over 2 yrs. Going from a size 32 to a 16 I have one. My daughter took me shopping and helped me choose. I started to put weight on when I was 8 and am now 61. My weight has been stable for a month. Would like to loss another 7lbs but if it takes me another year to do it that's ok with me. At the age of 59 realised its a marathon not sprint. My children are very proud of me and say their Dad would be to. Widowed nearly 16 years. Just wanted to blow my own trumpet lol.

That is wonderful. Amazing you! Particularly like your attitude about losing it slowly. That seems to be the way to keep it off. You must feel inwardly thrilled at your success and appearance. So you should be.

Whiff, congratulations !

PamelaJ1 Sun 22-Dec-19 14:33:33

You have done so well. You must have been very determined and it has paid off.
As it’s taken you so long you, hopefully, will find it easier to keep it off than those who lose it quickly.
Has it made life much easier?

I have lost nearly a stone after illness but unfortunately none from waist or tummy area. I can't get into any of my good trousers so will be in elastic waistershmm for Christmas.

Brilliant! It's so hard to lose weight especially as we get older. So you have done well .

PamGeo Sun 22-Dec-19 15:52:35

Whiff - "Just wanted to blow my own trumpet lol."

And so you should. That is an incredible achievement and I can imagine it's been quite a hard slog for you.

How absolutely lovely - well done you. I noticed when I thinned that people were just instantly 'nicer' to me in some indefinable way, it made daily life a lot less of a hill to climb.

Theoddbird Sun 22-Dec-19 17:07:00

How wonderful. Well done you. Your family must be so proud of you. You should be proud of yourself. You blow that trumpet loudly for all to hear.

Fabulous achievement. That’s so hard to do. Do love wearing a dress. They’re so much easier than matching things together. You will look gorgeous in it!

Ninarosa Sun 22-Dec-19 21:53:25

Clever lass. You must feel like the cat who swallowed the (low fat) cream. Maintaining is often harder in it's way than losing , keep as focussed as you have been while losing, enjoy your new body !
