Tilly sorry I was confusing . My tribunal in 29th but Monday meeting Emma who will be going with me. Taking all my files with me that way she knows what I have and how long I have been fighting for disability benefits. If I do win on the 29th unfortunately they won't back dated for the 35 years . But only until I asked for the PIP forms end March last year. But it's such a relief not to go on my own. I didn't ask my daughter as think I said I will cry and it would have made my daughter cry. She knows I have deteriorated but hearing me say what I need to I don't want her to know just how bad I have got. No matter how old our children get we still want to protect them .

Thanks for saying I am inspiration but I am just me . I write as I talk hence I am a chatterbox. My brother says I have verbal diarrhoea but his cheeky. Like him saying I am 16 years older than him infact it's 16 months . Do point out his bald and has more wrinkles than me. He says laughter lines so I said nothing is that funny 🤣🤣🤣.

MayBee if you have the dog then you will have been exercising as you walk the dog and play with it. Plus no doubt you have been doing housework. If you think about it ,it takes effort to push a vac around and dusting you are bending and stretching all classed as exercise . Even washing up by hand is exercise as your arms are moving and you twist to put them to dry. Even loading and unloading a dishwasher in bending and twisting. Still exercise. If you grandchildren are like my grandson's they have you on the move all the time. Mind you had my grandson on Tuesday his brother was at nursery . While watching TV he keep saying nannie wake up. Good job his 5 and doesn't need consent supervision. My daughter has taught him my address in case when I take him out I am ill and need to go home.

Having my boobs flatten today got my 3 yearly mammogram. My husband would have said they need a finder's fee 🤣.

A new day and all that - I have prepared a healthy meal and am feeling quite different it’s an overused phrase but it is a “Journey” we go on isn’t it?

I’m currently house/dog sitting at my daughters. I could spend the week reading, walking, doing exercises ( apart from the two days when I have to look after my son’s children) but I seem to just want to keep snacking. I hope I’m not putting on all the weight I lost! It didn’t help that I bought some cakes for the children yesterday.

Tilly I realised on my weight lose journey that feeling guilty if I over eat or eat a whole tub of ice cream in a day it's pointless feeling bad about it. Each day is a new start. Like said many times the main thing is not to give up. Giving up is easy but to keep going is hard but it's worth it . For 2 years I have been trying to lose the stone and bit I want to lose to get to my goal but I still keep trying . The pre 2017 me would have given up and the 7 st would have gone back on but I have kept it off but still fighting to lose the last bit.

NanKate started a wonderful thread and found friends here who understand and we support eachother . This is a lovely thread no one needs to feel guilty if they had a bad day or week or weeks. I know I am not alone. And feel confident not to talk just about weight lose but about my life. May bore the pants off some but I still write. 🤣.

My PIP tribunal is on the 29th and someone from the Brain Charity is going with me. Meeting her on Monday will miss my sit fit group but this is more important. It's a load off my mind that she is going with me. She can't talk but just to have her by my side will help me . Especially as I know I will cry that's why I didn't ask my daughter. Also I don't want her to know how bad things have got. She can see I am struggling more but neither of us say anything as she knows I don't want to admit to her I am finding things difficult. But I have found ways to do what I want just my way. Things I can't do like change my bedding my daughter does it for me.But I mange doing what I can when I can.

We are all winners and fighters here like me others have health issues but we don't give up. And you should all be proud of that fact. 🤸

Tilly if you put on,stay the same or lose weight . Don't feel you have to stay away. We are all going through the same thing. But like you we don't give up and that's the key. If you have a bad day like I do something times I start afresh the next day. It's a marathon not a sprint. As I have said many times. We have to eat less than our body needs but at times I grave certain foods I know I shouldn't eat as I can't control them. Like I eat a 900ml tub of ice cream the other week. In 2 goes the same day . Yes I felt bad afterwards but I loved every mouth full. Next day stuck to my cal allowance.

Losing weight is full of ups and downs. But that's life. I promised my husband to live my life to the full and since moving here 4 years ago I do.

Be happy in whatever you do no matter what limitations your body puts on you . 😊

I am keeping a low profile as I am on an upward trend when I thought I had shed a few pounds for good.
I guess you cannot go by weight you lose when you are ill. 😔
Perseverance is the key - and the key is firmly in my hand.

Lost half a pound this week so happy with that. I am a creature of habit and have my breakfast between 8.30-9am , lunch at 1pm and dinner at 6pm. Have last drink of the day a low cal hot chocolate made with coconut milk at 8pm. The only days I don't eat lunch is Monday and Thursday so have extra 10g oats for my porridge. Monday my sit fit class starts at 1.30- 2.30 and craft group on Thursday 1-3.

Meals times have been the same since 2017. After I had no one depandant on me. I have always like having a routine which which I could have before my husband died. Routine helps me cope with my grief , HPX and weight control.

If I decide to do something I do it as it makes me anxious if I don't . Doesn't matter how much pain I am I have to do what I planned. I can do spur of the moment in emergency but puts me on edge.

It's only taking to others with HPX that I found out the feeling I get is anxiety never realised I had it 🤷.

It’s great when your clothes start to feel less clingy NanKate! The non-scale victory’s are just as important.
I was 1•5lbs up this week!! Frustrating as I thought I’d got away with my holiday indulgences, weight gain/loss does sometimes catch up with me in two week cycles. Struggling to get back on track but still trying. Have a great week all

Hello Shirley. Firstly my ‘restricted eating regime is continuing to be positive 👍

So as a refresher this is how my day goes.

8.30 breakfast. One weetabix, a spoonful of low sugar granola, a mix of fresh fruit prepared the night before a dollop of fat free Greek yogurt, sprinkle on a few nuts, plus a cup of coffee.

11.00 Coffee

12.30 a small glass of Kefir, a toasted cheese sandwich or 4 granary type savoury biscuits, a matchbox size of cheese, and a banana. Then either a few grapes or a nectarine.

3.30 cup of tea and either one rich tea or a tiny 2 mouthful size of any cake.

5.45 jacket spud, mixed salad, cold chicken (or similar) plus a dessert eg fruit yoghurt or a Sainsbury’s individual trifle.

Today I put on a nice top I bought recently at White Stuff and it no longer clings to my stomach, a RESULT!

I then eat/drink anything till the following day.

Hi all….just back from Filey, North Yorkshire, I haven’t yet graced the scales lol, I will next, Monday.
That’s good nankate that your jacket is looser. With your 10 hour eating window what do you have for your breakfast to keep you going all day?

I’ve just braved the scales and I’m ok. I was a bit worried. I think fasting every night is the secret even though I don’t always do 16 hours. In fact I do just what fits in with whatever’s happening. I feed the dog early in the morning and then we both go back to sleep with my Jason Stephenson relaxation tape so that’s a few extra hours of fasting that I don’t notice cause I’m asleep. I’ve never been a morning person even though I used to have to get up at 7 for work each day. Back then I used to have a mid day nap unless I was doing a long shift at work.

Well I am surprised I stayed the same . Stuck to my cals . But not as active as normal due to high pain levels. Got so bad ask my GP if I can be referred to the pain clinic. I have had pain in my legs since a young child and 35 years ago it stuck in my left arm and leg. But been back in both legs for years now, left arm still constant pain but right getting it every so often. But I have learn to tolerate the pain but I have what I call flares where the pain gets worse. Usually just having an extra tablet for the nerve pain does the trick after 2-3 days and back to normal level which I tolerate but this time had to up my other pain tablet as well for 4 days. Just back to the extra one yesterday and will take it today as well. But still going to my sit fit class this afternoon. Circuit training this afternoon I love that . But don't think gym circuit training we do use equipment but sit down to use some. It's the stepper that gets me as it's high but we had a chair each side to hold on to. If I let pain stop me doing anything I wouldn't have a life. As the only time I don't feel pain is when I am asleep. But I am used to it .Am 65 now it's just part of who I am.

Four bread is always my downfall. That's why I don't buy it unless have visitors.

Taking my grandson to the Wetherspoons for lunch tomorrow so he can have ice cream for his pud. Had he last Tuesday he put all my Sainsbury's delivery away for me. Got him for 2 more Tuesdays. Hard to believe he will be in class 1 next month. When his mom and little brother who had been at nursery came on Tuesday he shouted I am here nannie as he hurled through the door . He's like me wears his food . He's excuse is he's 2.5 mine shaking hands🤦.

SachaMac that's not much especially as you have been on holiday. One day I will be the target I want been trying last 2 years but at least keep the 7st off.

Thanks for sticking with us Four. Weight gain and loss is far more to do with the brain than hunger IMO.

After another tricky week I have put on 0.8lb but to be honest, I'm surprised it's not more. Weather wise a decent walk has been impossible although I have got out most days. The GP and physio can't decide who will talk to me about my knee - each says the other! Then a few other issues caused a small amount of naughtiness, really due to lack of time or willingness to avoid what I know I shouldn't have!
Bread is once again my downfall as I normally never have too many sandwiches in a week but this week they've been essential!
Still we pears never give up and tomorrow starts another week which hopefully will be better for us all!

Hi fellow Pears, I’m a little behind with the chat as I’ve been away on the lovely Isle of White. I’m pleased to say on my return to SW this morning I have only put on half a lb which I was more than happy about as although I’ve eaten well Ive had quite a few treats on holiday.

Pleased your jacket is feeling loser Nankate it’s good to have an item of clothing that you really want to fit in to, it can really spur you on. It will also be good to show that shop assistant her theory is wrong!! You’ll have to go back wearing it.
Good idea to have a photo up too Whiff I think it’s photographs that make us realise we have gained weight more than looking at ourselves in the mirror. Also that glimpse in a shop window, I have been caught out there and had to do a double take to realise yes I am that 60+ year old somewhat overweight woman in the reflection Still I’m a stone down so if I only lose a steady 1lb a week going forward I should be close to my target weight by Christmas.

Two members hit target this morning, it was great to see, very inspiring and proof that healthy eating works if you stick at it.
I haven’t measured myself for years MayBee, other than for a new bra, it’s a good idea though as we can lose inches and not lbs. I do remember having a tiny little waist of many years ago but don’t think I’ll ever get that back!

NanKate glad your lovely jacket is feeling loser on your hips. It's a lovely feeling when clothes no longer cling to in my case wobbly flabby bits. I keep a photo in my kitchen of me at 19+st as a reminder I never want to be that woman again.

MayBee I kept a record of my measurements and pleased to stay they have stayed the same since loosing the 7st . Went if I put a bit on or take off or stay the same my measurements are the same. But think my sit fit classes has toned up some flabby bits and feel my waist has tightened up . As when we do the waist twists I can twist further around than a few months ago. No amount of exercise will tone my fabby thighs or bingo wings but they are hidden..And am pleased how I look. Took me years to stop seeing the obese woman I was and reaching for the big sizes . Still fighting to lose that stone and bit been fighting for 2 years but if it's takes me years one day I will reach the 11st. But not having a time limit suits me. It's a marathon not a sprint.

If loosing weight was easy we would all be the same size. If I was 6' them I would be ideal weight but I am 5' 2". 🤦.

About 15 years ago I was looking at some photographs and I thought ‘who is that fat women’ and I realised it was ME ! It really spurred me on the lose weight which I have kept off until about a year ago when my doctor reduced my thyroxine !!

Has anyone else kept a record of their measurements over the years? I’ve got a little scrap of paper with them on. When I put weight on it goes onto my thighs. They go up and down by several inches on a regular basis!
