They can be very effective but only if you use that time to change your lifestyle habits. Only get it from a qualified healthcare professional and not an aesthetician. There is a lot of fake stuff out there

Good luck - no personal experience but there is increasing of evidence that if you can tolerate these weight loss drugs, they can have a significant positive impact on your health - even reversing some of the impacts associated with being overweight.

Good luck and well done for being proactive - Mounjaro is particularly for weight loss I have a friend who is taking it and so far has lost a stone per month. She says it turns ‘the food noise off’ and sometimes forgets to eat. She’s delighted with the results and the support she’s given from the company from which she buys it

It’s made me feel very queasy at times, and my appetite has been affected by that. I haven’t been given any instructions about weight loss by the hospital, but as a diabetic, I’ve been put on it by the endocrinologist to help keep my blood sugar down.

I’ve been given all sorts of drugs to reduce my blood sugar, if Mounjaro works for that, I’ll be really pleased. Sometimes I feel as if I’ve got a mountain of tablets to get through!

I was a bit daunted by the self-injecting, but the instruction leaflet is very clear, and sticking it into my fat tummy doesn’t hurt at all!

My daughter had bariatric surgery but it didn't help so she took Ozempic for a couple of months but had to stop because she couldn't afford it. She said that whilst she was on it, she realised how often she thought about food. She said that it really helped her.

We’ve been talking about the weight loss injections at our Healthy & Happy meetings (aka Fat Club 😂) and some of the side effects. Some people sail through them while others suffer.

No matter which way you decide to go you need to follow a healthy balanced diet.

Wishing you all the best on your weight loss journey MrsHappy x

A friend has recently begun Mounjaro and is delighted so far. She had tried everything to reduce her weight and it had got to the stage where it was impacting her general health. She is well aware of how to live a healthy life and none of the rest of her family is overweight.

She’s now lost a stone in a month and is feeling better already - her knees ache less and she has gone from just splashing about in the swimming pool to managing 400m a session. She feels a bit off-colour the day after the jab but no other side effects.

I have a relative who is delighted with the results of the weight loss jab. Her doctor advised her to try it, although she does pay for it herself. She's had great results so far and her blood pressure has come down. If you do go ahead good luck and let us know how you get on.

The difficult part will be when she has to come off it.

My neighbour was on a weight loss drug for 6 months, only lost a few pounds and put that back on as soon as she stopped taking the jabs.

You do know you can’t be on them indefinitely don’t you?

No and never would . But if you are set on taking it. Have you checked it won't interfere if you are on any medication.
If you have any food allergies have you checked it does contain any? Some tablets and injections contain egg albumen as part of the manufacturing process.
I would keep a daily diary of how you feel and any side effects or skin changes plus bowel habits . As it may show signs of the drug not suiting you .

Just be careful and do you know how long you will be having it ?

Please remember you have to reduce your food intake you can't rely on the drug to magically melt away the stones.

Wish you well but please be careful.

I did it the hard way over 5 years and lost 7st . I realised loosing and keeping off the weight is a marathon not a sprint . I was size 32 and over 19st. Now a size 16. Will never be slim and was obese for decades and even with exercise the skin doesn't magically tighten up. I am baggy and saggy but I don't care . Been trying to lose the last stone for 3 years one day I will do it . I am 66.
