I'd really like to thank Liza for starting this thread and reviving my happy memories of boarding school. I haven't had such fun since Father Geary slipped off the porch roof while he was repairing the tiles under Sister Ignatious's cell.

As we 'non-Catholics' were 2nd class individuals beyond redemption (never mind that the fee-paying pupils outnumbered RCs 2:1) as we were frequently reminded, far be it for me to doubt anything I was told !
The only male on the premises was the gardener and the one time there was a male teacher he had to sit in a separate Staff room..... Any girl seen within 10 feet of either got a Saturday detention (made his teaching rather remote!)
