For 10 years I have had a Christmas Tree in my garden for grandparents to write messages to their estranged grandchildren, it is called our "Tree of Hope." It becomes a little beacon of light at a dark time in peoples lives. If you would like to write a message please do inbox me I will write them and pop on the tree.

Mines on there somewhere!!

Makes me smile just looking at the tree.
So thoughtful of you.

I always keep the messages as they are so precious, so over the last 10 years I have 1,000's, I wish every year that no one will need to write a message, which would mean that estrangement and alienation was no longer happening. I live in Hope.x

The weather is fine, the messages are written on plastic labels that I cut out from modelling sheets and I use waterproof pens. If a grandparent sends a card then I laminate them, so all the wind, rain, snow doesn't spoil them.
Mind you I did learn the hard way!
I was once seen chasing up the road as messages blew off the tree, they are now tied so tight, they wont go anywhere.

I keep coming on this thread to look at the tree Minty. It's comforting to know that our message to our GC is there.

Have a 'Merry Christmas' and thank you for making ours that little bit easier with your tree of hope.

Just wanted to pop by and thank everyone who sent messages to their grandchildren, we had well over 100 messages this year. So many people stopped and read the messages and asked about it, always a good way to raise awareness. So thank you all again, and I hope that 2020 is a year where more and more grandchildren are reunited with their grandparents.
