I've been trying to think of something different to say in the OP for this new support thread but was reminded of the old adage 'if it aint broke, don't try to fix it'.

The longevity and success of the support thread speaks for itself, so we just need to keep doing what we do which is being there for one another and giving a warm welcome to anyone new who comes along.

Just delivered, my anniversary gift from Mr. S.

They are beautiful!

Whiff

Spring it's the Gremlins or in my case my shaky hands 😁

😊😂

So….inspired by certain posters I thought I’d go and check out jumpers in town today - but it’s far too hot!!!
Alternative plan is to sit in the shade with my book 😊!
Great to see the sunny weather but would be even better beside a pool with drinks on hand 😂

She's OK Allsorts but has decided to take a break for a while which TBH I was thinking of doing on Monday night. Having been here for more than 10 years though, I don't think I could have managed itgrin.

I was so pleased to see so many positive posts yesterday already on by 8.30, which is testament to the importance of this thread and the good that it does, as does the number of years its been running.

Thank you, and a thank you from Mr. S. too for all of your good wishes.

Mr S is a romantic at heart Smiles beautiful flowers.

Allsorts Yogin will be back soon. She just having a break.

I will be AWOL from Friday lunch time until Monday night as going away staying with a friend I made on a different thread. She visited me earlier on in the year and we clicked . I was going on the train but she says the station is difficult to get out off so insisted on fetching me. She lives 50 mins away in the next county. But made up a goody bag as a thank you.

I am packing as I can't leave everything to the last minute. Ticking things off my list as I go. 27° in my living room that's with the curtains shut. 🥵🥵🥵

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I'm so pleased with my flowers, just love them and I always think they're such a romantic gift.

Well done DSL your order of thermal vests will hopefully give us at least another week of decent summer like weathergrin.

Lovely flowers.

You might be interested to know I've just ordered some thermal vests online.

That should ensure we get some nice warm weather for a bit longer......lol.

Happy anniversary Smiles and Mr S from me too! Hope you have a really lovely day 💐😦

Happy Anniversary to Mr & Mrs Smiles. Have a lovely day and enjoy your Indian meal.

Your shopping trip yesterday sounds very successful. Quite the haul.

Whiff. Definitely give the talk if you can. Your story about how You've taken control and improved your health is inspirational. You certainly motivated me to get to grips my muscles/skeletal issues.

You definitely have the Invictus Spirit and mindset. 😁

Smiles and Mr S happy wedding anniversary 🍾🥂.

Smiles and Allsorts will think about giving a talk . R has asked me before about it so I know they mean it. We will see .

Going to be another hot one. Stay cool everyone.

Allsorts Tue 05-Sept-23 21:04:12

Give the talk Whiff, but as Smileless said, write down the order of things you want to say so you don’t go over something you have already said. They have asked you to speak so obviously think you’re worth listening too, we might be asking for your autograph before long .😁

Smileless2012 Tue 05-Sept-23 17:21:54

Yes we do don't we Whiffsmile and if we include Mr. S., we can add bowls to the list too.

I think you giving a talk is an excellent idea. You can write something down and time yourself. You are so positive, and the way you tell us about your falls and stumbles is always with humour so you'd be an inspiration, just like you are here on GN.

We have a wide variety of talents on here. Singers ,authors, painters and those with green fingers.

Went to the Brain Charity as planned via bus and train and surprise surprise I didn't get lost this time. R and E liked their mugs with their names on. It was just a little thank you . Sent one to S the solicitor who helped me. We where talking and E said she ( me) mentioned ironing I have no idea I did or why as I only have a few things I iron. Then R asked if I had thought about giving a talk as I am positive about disability. I laughed as I ramble on and forget what I am saying or repeat myself. They would say does this woman ever stop talking. 🤣. My brother says I have verbal diarrhoea. I know I am a chatterbox I have turned into my mom . My children called her nannie chatterbox.

My weeks aren't always so full. Monday and Thursday',s are always booked but aim to go out another day. Try and get in the garden but it's to hot at the moment. Busy trying to get my Christmas cross stitch done.

When I read what some of you get up I think others would see my life as boring but it's not to me.

Glad to see so many still posting.

Smileless2012 Tue 05-Sept-23 17:02:44

Awww thank you smile.

😁
🍾🥂 for tomorrow

Smileless2012 Tue 05-Sept-23 16:07:29

Just noticed I got your name wrong Dotcom; sorryblush.

Smileless2012 Tue 05-Sept-23 15:00:54

Whatever gets you through DL and hopefully when you and things eventually settle, you'll be able to cut downflowers.

You always write such lovely posts Dotcomesmile.

Back from my very successful shopping spree. 4 jumpers and 2 pairs of jeans, stocked up on vitamins etc as there was a 2 for 3 offer on and bought some aftershave and a lovely card for
Mr. S.

Going to sit out on the roof terrace for an hour or so before taking the dogs out for a walk. Not sure when Mr. S's. back, depends whether or not he wins his first match of the day. Fingers crossed.

DiamondLily Tue 05-Sept-23 13:37:20

Must admit I am smoking much too much at the moment - when I can't sleep I'm out in the kitchen smoking. Still, it's getting me through at the moment. Not good with a chest condition though.😗

Spent an hour in the garden, before it gets too hot, now it's coolers on, do the accounts, and chill.

All have a good afternoon 💐

Hello everyone on this boat on the sea of Estrangement.
At times it gets rocky as the sea gets rough but essentially we’re here to support one another however this situation has affected us.

For me it’s been more years than I care to remember.
Over these years I’ve found the companionship heartening and supportive.
Everyone’s situation is theirs and theirs alone.

What helps me is the input whether through advice or just a chat of what they’re doing.

The main thing is keep on keeping on..

Dot🌸

Panis Angelicus is beautiful, gives me goosebumps and tears to my eyes.

I used to be in the choir years ago but life got in the way. It's a community choir so no real church type music, other than Christmas carols. No auditions, no solos. It's just a bit of fun and fund raising for local charities, free concerts for nursing homes that kind of thing.

Not sure how my lungs will cope, I've been doing some breathing exercises and singing in the kitchen. Only with the windows shut, don't want to traumatise the neighbours. Lol.

Just listened to a long range weather forecast....looking good. 😎
